A Smart Bra Device
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that develops in a woman's breast tissue. It is the most common cancer among women globally with a high mortality rate. In 2020, according to WHO, 2.3million women were diagnosed with breast cancer globally which leads to the death of 685,000 women. It has remained the leading cause of cancer death in women. But if it is detected at the early stage, it can be cured in 9 out of 10cases.
Our solution is a Smart Bra Device developed to help women check their breast status in the comfort of their times, it detects earliest stage breast cancer, monitors daily conditions of a diagnosed patient, and aid breast self-examine which most women have neglected.
Our smart bra device is smart clothing that utilizes non-invasive, painless techniques based on frequent ultrasound monitoring compare to the existing technology, mammograms that utilizes radiation which is more harmful than beneficial to women most especially those below the age of 50 years.
the smart bra device innovation is targeting women between the ages of 8- 60 years globally. This noble innovation is a revolutionary approach to the prevention of breast cancer globally by reducing the number of women losing their lives to breast cancer by 65%.
I and my team engaged the people our solution is targeting(women) to get their reaction towards the development of the smart bra device through a survey. We conduct trials using volunteered women to validate our concept at every stage of our development. We formed a community of women both locally and internationally, where we share our progress. we have presented our solution to the government where we operate to seek their support and knowledge towards the development of the device and they pledge their support in ensuring the successful development and implementation.
- Improve confidence in, engagement with, and use of healthcare services globally.
- Prototype
I am applying to connect with partners that can help advance our solution to the MVP stage, to connect with mentors, and expertise in the field of wearables.
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
Our smart bra device innovation is a patent technology. It utilizes Ultrasound technology which is safe for humans proven by WHO compared to the existing technology that utilizes radiation. Our innovation is incorporated with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things/API which makes it unique and different from the existing solution. Our innovation is cable of detecting early breast cancer in women with dense breasts compared to the existing solution. Our innovation is aimed to be cheaper to fulfill our aim of reducing the number of women dying of breast cancer compared to the existing solution that is expensive and not available to women in developing countries.
Our goal in the next year is to ensure every woman globally owns the smart bra device for their safety. In the next five years, we aimed to reduce the occurrence of breast cancer thereby reducing the number of women losing their lives globally by 65%. We will achieve our aim through partnerships with various manufacturers, health industries, the government, none governmental organizations, and channels in different countries.
our impact goal will be measured with the UN SGD 3, improvement in the daily lives of women
our solution utilizes ultrasound technology and nanotech for the detection, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep learning for result analysis, IoT/API to transmit the result to the end-user using a mobile and web interface.
