ID watch

This is a digital instrument which displays different identifications of an individual and imbedded with a password for privacy protection.

ID watch is a device envisioned to work as an identity card. It is in shape of a watch and therefore maybe wore on the wrist making it mobile.

The device can handle more than one identification of an individual, such as National identification, University Identification. It can also be used for licenses like drivers license, voting card. Hence reduction on the cost of producing different identification. A centre of ID watch is set up in every region, in case a company wants to add identifications of their employees,it provides the information and it is added on the id watch of that individual. And the same happens for when a company needs to remove an individual's identification. This eradicates the problem of employess who disguise as worker of a company yet they were already fired.

The device ensures data  privacy and protection of an individual, since it asks for a password to whoever needs to access the identification of a person. Allowing display of personal information only to those who rightfully deserve to know it. If the individual forgets the password he or she can go to the control center and have it reset to a new one. Since the device can be wore on the wrist, it reduces on the chances of losing the identification unlike for cases of cards.

Furthermore, the device possess two charging systems, first the electrical charging system enabling its usage in urban areas. And the solar system, making it possible to be used in rural  areas where electricity is out of reach.

Ultimately, to everyone else ID watch is just a watch since they can not access the identifications of the possessor without their permission. But to the owner, ID watch is a digital identification device.

This solution adopts the existing technology of watches which are wore on the wrist. The solution takes advantage of the mobility of the watches and provides them a greater purpose imbedding digitalization.

Hence having a watch, but this time with another role of identification. And therefore forming an ID watch.

Privacy is ensured and protection through passwording of devices only which is accessed by permission of the owner. This technique is adopted from other devices like laptops, phones which have passwords before they are accessed. Hence protecting the information of the owner.

In addition, ID watch caters for areas of low connectivity since it doesn't require internet connection to access the information. After information is added, it is stored in the device enabling its usage in all scenarios.

ID watch is a digital identification system on its own. Since it displays digital data about an individual.  Which data is used as an identification.

Operation of ID watch is simple, since it only requires a  password and it displays the required information, hence making it user friendly.

Interoperability is ensured by ID watch since it allows possession of more than one identification. An individual has full control of his or her own data, but allowing different groups and organization to include the identification data onto his platform.This attribute makes it easy to adopt and allowing room for adoptability.

The design on ID watch is adopted from a watch making it familiar to all users. The operation of the device is not sophisticated since it only requires a password and it displays the required information. Hence making it user friendly. Data is embedded with in the storage of the device, which allows usage for areas of low connectivity.

The vision in the next five years is for all individuals, companies, governments and organizations to adopt the ID watch technology. Privacy of individuals around the globe will be protection.In addition, resources will be saved for processing an identification for each purpose like Driver's license, national Identification, University Identification.

Ultimately, the sustainability of people will be improved since they will possess identifications which are trusted by everyone. Companies will be saved from frauds who use fake identity cards in their imagine.

Currently, we formed a company "lightining technologies" though not yet registeted, which aims at identifying challenges for developing countries and designing solutions for implementation.

The team is comprised of four members.

1. Ismael Mayanja (team leader), agricultural engineer with experience and love for innovations. Mainly through adaptation of existing technologies and making them feasible to rural areas.

2. Habib Ssentongo, a computer engineer experienced in software and App development.

3. Ibrahim Kamulegeya, an automotive engineer with experience and passion for wiring and electrical systems

4. Fazhir Kayondo, an agriculturalist with part time work in humanitarian activities, aiming at improving the livelihoods of Ugandans.

After the solution is implemented as tested to be fully efficient. We are going to right up proposals to government, universities and companies selling the idea of changing their form of identification and articulating the advantages of using ID watch. This will enable expansion of use of the product.

ID watch is envisioned to be a business enterprise, therefore their supply will be at a cost. And different centers of operators will be set up in different regions for data input, inquiry, maintenance and repair of the devices. All those services will be carried out at a cost. Which will generate revenue for the enterprise, hence ensuring expansion and long term sustainability.

We are applying to two main goals.

First, to receive capital for our project to enable its implementation and testing. Without capital to push the project, it all remains just a dream. We have hopes to revolutionalize Uganda starting with ID watch.

Secondly, we hope to network and meet different intellectuals from around the globe. From whom we hope to gain pieces of advice and knowledge about our vision. And we trust it will have so much impact on our future projects.

The greatest challenge of our solution are the funds to make it possible. Currently we have been making personal savings and applying for grants and innovation competitions, hoping to solve it.

Implementing a novel solution like ID watch is quite complicated. But we are a team of four audacious and persistent individuals ready to break through and believing that it is difficult but not impossible.

Finally, we are concerned that someone else with resources might implement the idea before we do it. So we are working fast hoping to implement ID watch in the scheduled timeline.
