GreenSpace
Our ecosystems are affected by many factors that play a role in our daily lives and those factors can affect our lives in good and bad ways both at the same time, one example is buildings and construction. Its Carbon-footprint or CO2 emissions are on a scale of global damage. Changing the climate isn't possible in one day or solving it with one solution isn't either, but little changes make a big difference!
The goal of GreenSpace is to make those little changes in an environment possible.
Together, Buildings and Construction are roughly responsible for 39% of all carbon emissions in the world. According to the Global Concrete & Cement Association, each ton of cement produces about half a ton of CO2. The World Steel Association calculates that steel manufacture is responsible for around 8% of carbon dioxide emissions and that for every ton of steel produced, 1.85 tons of CO2 is emitted. This causes a big issue in climate change and Global warming. We might not be able to substitute the construction materials or provide the efficiency of these high-carbon emission materials, but what we can do is store these carbon emissions in a useful way to reduce the damage done to the environment.
The solution ECO has come up with is as follows :
by creating an agency or a company that specializes in green ecosystems!
ECO will hire and recruit Botanists, Researchers, and Professionals, people that are working towards changing global warming and polluted environments.
Bringing these people together and working with construction companies and industrial agencies to plan eco-construction projects.
The people that are hired in ECO will work with engineers and construction-material companies, they will review and research how much CO2 in these construction projects is emitted and how much can be stored naturally in plants and trees.
A simple example of our work will be :
Suppose a building is being built in an area of a city.
ECO will contact and work with the building's construction company and engineer, they will find out about CO2 emissions in the material used to construct the building. After researching, they will analyze the soil of the land, the Weather around it, and the pollution of the area. They will then preserve some parts of the building for plants/trees called green space.
Like the roof of the building and the balcony of the building, maybe an area of the parking lot or more. They will use plants and trees which are most useful in purifying carbon polluted environments and are able to grow easily with the weather and soil of the land.
The plants and trees will absorb an amount of carbon produced by the building and in return give out oxygen to the environment.
A project as simple as this can have a very big impact if it is done on a large scale, and hopefully, this will purify carbon-polluted areas to an amount.
It will create Eco- jobs and opportunities for the right people.
Currently, in Afghanistan, especially in Kabul roads are constructed, houses are built and complex cities but the pollution it causes and health risks it creates for the people arent taken into mind, it's basically a very complex subject to people which they don't understand. Telling people to use different materials in construction, not to use carbon-rich products, not to plan projects without taking into consideration their cons is very difficult and almost impossible without government support.
This is why I want to change this with a different approach, by collaborating with people and working together in a way that benefits both parties.
Ass an afghan, growing up in this country I understand the culture and norms of the people. Which principle do they have and what differences exist between genders and views or beliefs .
Being part of the community and living in it allows me to find suitable approaches and discuss with right the people in contrast to a foreigner.
I can express my view and beliefs and find the right people in a community I have lived my entire life.
There are no language barriers for us to communicate, we can see and understand the problems of our society very well from within and find ways to solve them considering religious beliefs, political and economical situations.
- Enable mass production of inexpensive and low-carbon housing, including changes to design, materials, and construction methods.
- Concept
As a young girl with many dreams and aspirations, I am not able to do this project on my own. The political situation in Afghanistan has changed drastically with the Taliban taking over on august 15 of 2021. I want to help my people and my community but I am not allowed to of my gender.
I know that SOLVE has people that can do this in my place and maybe not just in Kabul where I live but in many other places of the world too.
People that have capabilities and their situation doesn't limit them.
I want SOLVE to find the right people and make this work.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
I expect my solution to have positive impacts on society and change their mindsets about global warming and climate.
I want people to realize that everything is a result of our own actions and the government or world organizations aren't only responsible for them.
That we have a responsibility too and we can bring a change too.
I want people in my society to be aware of these matters because today most people think global warming or carbon rich ecosystems arent that much of a danger . They dont discuss such matters and think its the goverment 's job .
By using this assolution , people will realize they can make a change themselves in very different ways in their lives .
It will also change the market of construction industry and more eco - projects will be designed or taken into consideretion in planning .
This solution has long-term impacts, in 5 or maybe more years to come cities will be built with having lots of green space which will reduce the CO2 emissions around it.
More ways or alternatives for preserving land to green space will be found or made by people when they become aware of the global issues and its imapct on communities .
Much more modernized city xonstruction planning will be made and it will make goverments involved more than they are now .
By contacting people and working with more people in the construction industry.
Planning projects and implementing them in a community.
Spreading awareness about climate change in my community and collabrations .
The technology my solution uses is software, apps, and digital machines such as tablets and pcs.
Mostly Auto-CAD programs.
By using different technologies in different areas to come to a conclusion.
Using software to analyze the climate and CO2 emissions.
Using software and AI to research and analyze the soil and weather of the community and the construction area.

I welcome and mostly encourage diversity in my team and project. Because I believe that different people can come up with different and amazing ways to find solutions to problems we face today in society.
It increases the experience of a team when different people of many cultures and races are connected .
Equality is one of my project team's fundamental principles and in no circumstances, will be differences, between team members, because of their race, culture, gender, religion, and beliefs.
The goal is to make a change in society and the lives of people.
Racism, Sexism, and Nepotism is an example of how lowly humans think of themselves and insult themselves by having such abhorrent ideas or views.
I myself face these matters everyday in Afghanistan and I would never want another person to experience them. I would never support a person of such beliefs in my team .
