THIS IS ME

A system storing citizens protected personal information to identify them in all spheres required of the identification, using modern gadgets.

This Is Me, is a digital system that is integrated with the main system within the local area resident’s system and other service providers such as school, hospitals and corporate offices. Whereby the system will be in both, a mobile application on both smartphones and feature phones, of which people can feed in their information that will be sufficing the main narrative of the National Bureau of Statistics [NBS] of Tanzania and the National Identification Authority. The system will facilitate the users to be able to have power and control over the use of their information as well as exercise their activities without being limited to normal conventional ID cards, of which get lost and restrict citizens to access various services across Tanzania.

After a careful research on the identification system in Tanzania, I found out that there are no digital systems that favor citizens to access their information and share it anyhow they want, despite of Tanzania being a nation that internet penetration and digital communication disruption is growing, still such technologies have not surfaced.

There are more than 58 million Tanzanians, and in most cases, people get their identification cards through voter ID registration, one year before the general election, driving licenses, national passport and national identification registration done once per year. In most situations almost 50 percent of the viable the population to received the ID cards don’t get opportunities in all the three pools to get registered. With, This Is Me system all the mentioned agencies and departments can be looped together, and reach many people out there who require their right to be identified effectively.  With the system being able to manifest it self into various parameters of technology, police stations, hospitals, schools and other points where require people to show their identifications, citizens can have the ability of giving out only names that can be recorded into smartphones, tablet computers and desktops to access information of the respective individual. Hence, the system will protect and preserve the privacy of the individual and only provide information that suffice the identification of the particular request

It is a solution that fuses together real needs of the people to be identified easily and with a state of the art technology, thus with This Is Me, their cries are being harmonized effectively and with only a click, swipe away to be identified. Thus, the innovation has surpassed every limitation that was highlighted by a sample that we talked to(researching) that featured interoperability and user friendly environments, something that the system has strictly featured.

This is Me intends to structure the data gathered by the citizens into a personalized and private designed segment of which, the data will be protected and stored independently from the section of which other users might access. In Tanzania, people have been lacking a system that stores their data with much integrity to privacy and protection of their valuable data that mimics their reality. It is my hope for This Is Me system to be holistic and savvy to embed the aspect into reality. The system will store and restrict access to anyone in need to poach the data.

The system will ensure that, every digital ID has been synchronized with the system data base to ensure that, everyone accessing various service can be identified swiftly. The system will also, mirror its functions into all the digital devices that take up the digital ID systems to ensure that the entire process is seamless

The system will be designed
in both languages official in Tanzania Swahili and English languages, of which
they can be interchanged, also the system will be embedded into the feature and
smartphone application systems to enable people to use it easier and
effectively due to their familiarization of other services in nature to This is
Me. We intend for the system to be reachable and mimicking the technological challenges
facing the villagers, who are unknown and with no digital identification thread
across Tanzania. With, just solar panel, the system can be accessed from a
tablet computer or laptop

The system will be strictly versatile and user
friendly in all integrated systematic operations, whereby it is my sole aim to
ensure that various systems related in digital identification can be mirrored
to This Is Me system and ensure smooth and seamless operationalization

The system will be fused together, with the
ability to connect via various network providers systems penetrating into the
rural areas to ensure that the system is operational and efficient. Now, much
of the villages are starting to experience a 2G to 3G network capability of
which is of paramount vitality to the system accessibility. Also, we intend to
provide education to the tech savvy people in villages to pass through that
particular skill down the line, with their help we ensure that, no communication
breakdown might occur in the literacy process

The system provides easy access to identifying people and giving the civic value to the people as well humility. With that, fact in the play, the system intends to diffuse the other parallel services that can be of value to the rural people, especially in getting information and accessing various digital services such as weather forecast, warnings and market prices which are of paramount importance to them, due to the fact that most of their activities are based on agriculture and its associated services. Moreover, the system, looks forward to scale in higher heights economical and social.

I have coding skills primarily using python programming language, but also i have data analysis skills, researching skills which come to the mix. I am working with a friend on a part time basis, who is a community development expert and he has been studying community traits and development patterns in various villages across Tanzania.

We are looking forward to offer the system per service, hence the revenue stream will be based on fee per service where by , any entity in need to purchase our system function will be charged per service.

I have been having this idea for 3 years now, but i have began working for it for just 4 months and i believe that , with this platform i can reveal much potential and bring a relief to the people who are longing for such system. This challenge has just come, at the right situation of which i have been looking for a way to share and test the limits of creativity that i have invested in this particular idea.

Technological challenges: as there are some coding and other hands-on abilities to tech the system, such  as bio-metrics devices and coding abilities that i have to outsource.

Funds: i have limited amount of funds, as this year i have just saved up almost 700K, that being almost to US$310, which is not sufficient in research and development pertaining a creativity of this magnitude.
