Automated Vertical Farming
The Problem of lack of natural ecosystems to absorb and control carbon emissions in urban areas due to growth of manufacturing factories.
We are looking into cutting off the burning of fuels by trucks in moving food from villages to urban centers since food is now going to be grown where it is most needed.
And we are solving the challenge of land pressure in urban areas.
Our solution is an automated Vertical farm. It comprises of an encased, partitioned structure, run on a micro controller to set the internal climate for crop growth, and the system is entirely run on solar.
For the sake of fertilizers, we are adding a rabbits' section to collect their wastes mainly urine to supply it to the crops. And we are adding an online interface on the new unit.
Our solution targets mainly the population below 60 years of age, living in an urban area, has access to a smart phone or computer, and may or may not be employed. It is for both individuals or organizations.
Currently people in urban areas live in carbon rich environments, hardly have access to fresh foods even if they have the money to pay for it some times they are delivered on particular days due to transport logistics. Some wish to run some farming on the side but limited by their fulltime jobs and space.
Our system guarantees the absorption of carbon emissions, access to fresh healthy foods when needed, and can be conducted remotely via a mobile phone. Hence hardly any interference from other on going activities.
We are born and raised from the communities we are actually designing for. And on the other hand we have been and still in touch with some of the urban demonstration farms some of which have been supplying us with the seedlings in the previous two units.
- Support local economies that protect high-carbon ecosystems from development, including peatlands, mangroves, and forests.
- Pilot
We are looking into technical assistance in line with data collection and analysis to guide future designs as well as data to guide the users while they are having our unit in place.
We are looking for financial support to boost the products penetration to the market.
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
Our solution handles climate change issue through growing food which is a necessity to every living human.
Secondly the technology we are using for example using mobile phones is one that people especially majority youths are already addicted to
We are looking into have set up at least two 50ft by 100ft farms on the grounds of Axis Dynamics.
We are looking into having at least two automated vertical farms in at least 10 schools in the two of the major districts (Kampala and Wakiso) of Uganda.
To have at least 4 automated vertical farms within the capital city, Kampala in collaboration with Kampala Capital City Authority
We are looking at the number of schools calling us for our paid for technology class with so far five schools and started training in two of them.
The positive response from the government bodies like the ministry of ICT trusting us with a $20 USD fund in our technology works which wasn't the case two years before.
Our solution is for a global cause which is climate change. But most importantly is the approach of using food that is required by everyone on a daily basis.
Secondly the use of mobile phone which attracts the majority youths
Our solution is primarily built on Robotics technology but going forward we are looking into adding AI.
- A new application of an existing technology
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

- 13. Climate Action
- 15. Life on Land
- Uganda
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
We have a ratio of 1:1 currently. Some of the institutions we work with like Gayaza Girls School are single sex and we trust some of these students will gladly join us after school. We encourage females to join us but still we have no preference for as long as one has the passion in the work we are doing we welcome them.
We offer paid for hands on training in electronics, programing and mechanics in schools. In this way add value to the learners as we practically cover the theory they are taught in their traditional schools.
We realize ideas for organizations, offer consultation, and provide access to power tools at our space in return for revenue.
We have of recently started selling some robots from our R&D space. The first one went to Mbarara University, Second Innovex Ug Ltd, The third which was a voice controlled arm to Kyambogo University, and the Current two medical robots are going to the Ministry of ICT. And from this we have used part of the revenue to acquire tools like our very first 3D printer.
- Organizations (B2B)
First on the list is to make sure we walk our talk. We have seen a positive change whenever we have showcased our work as then they start to believe that we are not talking about the theories but doing it, and many have started contacting us to realize their ideals.
Increase on our paid for robotics school outreaches as well as holiday programs.
Push more on our R&D activities to have the tech products on the market. We trust being the first even among those we do similar robotics works, no one has a robotics / automated home made products on the market. We plan to us platforms like BUBU (Buy Uganda Build Uganda) among others to penetrate a virgin territory.
Improve our research lab with more equipment like CNCs, Skilled man power to attract more makers, and startups to use our grounds at cost.
We are also continuing to find more grants to support our internal innovations.
Having designed the first medical robot from our pockets and shared it on the media led us to a current contract with the ministry of ICT for two medical robots at a total revenue of $20. Here is the link to it:
We have generated some revenue from realizing projects like pedal power, gravity lights for Yiya Engineering, offered them access and guidance on using the power tools at our space.
We have conducted robotics trainings under Oysters & Pearls Ug, in Northern Ug and conducted robotics camps under Nyaka Orphanage in Kanungu, We currently have two schools we are running weekly in Kampala within the space of under two years of our registration as a company.
