Mobility is the single largest problem faced by Persons with disabilities (PwD) and the problem is interrelated with accessibility and assistance. myUDAAN is solving the problem that everyone faces at some point in time.

Mobility difficulties are not only a problem for PwD, but mobility problems also restrict any individual who faces limited mobility due to various factors such as older age, low physical activity, and more.

Mobility challenges restrict them from venturing out independently, excluding them from mainstream society and creating limitations in independence. Disability is now understood to be a human rights issue. People are disabled not only by their bodies but also by society.

The WHO has estimated that 15.3% of the world's population lives with some form of disability; it has been estimated that more than 2 billion people will need at least one assistive product by 2030, with many older people needing two or more devices.

·        What is the root cause of the problem?

• Today India accounts for 40-80 million PwD i.e. one in twelve households has a family member with some form of disability. Most of them are excluded and unable to reach their potential due to inaccessible ecosystem
• Mobility assistance lack of organized companies providing mobility services to PwD & Elderly restrict their movement. Dependence on family or others takes away their dignity
• Accessibility when it comes to providing barrier free access, 97% of India’s infrastructure is not accessible. There is no single source to provide locations accessibility information.
• Private buildings are completely inaccessible or barely accessible.
• At a national level, policies aren't devised to address issues related to problems faced by mobility impairment. Lack of proper research has restricted appropriate intervention strategies
• At a state level, the healthcare delivery system does not recognize the degree of physical disability, hence the rehabilitation and provision of mobility infrastructure falls short of basic expectation
• At a community level, social attitudes and stigma force family to create a closed environment restricting mobility.

·        Which section of society is facing this problem?

The problem is prevalent in PwD, among the geriatric (>60 Years) age group, people with restricted movement (met with accident, temporary disability), post-operative, bedridden and expecting mothers.

• There are more than 110+ m people with limited mobility, the elderly population is expected to grow to 320 mn by 2050. We will see an increase from 8% to 19% in the growth of the elderly population.
• The elder population growth rate is expected by 326% for 60+ and 700% for 80+
• 15 m elders are living independently, and 27m elders need specialized care.
• Persons with limited mobility faces this problem throughout their life. This hampers their ability to contribute to society and GDP productively.

Most people rely on immediate family members for help. It is increasingly difficult for family members to accompany regularly given their daily engagements.

Our Founder Ravindra Singh is himself a Person with a disability—fifteen years with various management roles. Also, an entrepreneur having run his own business in Marketing Space.

Mobility is a daily challenge due to the inaccessibility of public transit . The needy and elderly are in dire need of this assistance. When people with disabilities try to go out alone, they are always dependent on others.

myUDAAN provides interealted mobility solutions for mobility, assistance, and accessibility.

We've had an excellent conversion rate recently, with over 45 percent retention and less than 5% refund.
