Dū - A better digital you!
#giveitback - return all the consumer's data to enable them to view, correct, monetise and share with whom they choose.
Dū enables multiple companies to return all personal information / documentation (#giveitback GDPR #right2know) to a consumer on a single platform in a structured manner and allows consumers to share personal information with companies they choose to do business with(no #consent required - GDPR compliance). Dū further enables a consumer to view, request correction of personal information by the relevant organisation and to share corrected information from one company with another in a way that the receiving company can see who has uploaded the information and that it is trust worthy (portability of data GDPR). Dū eliminates the need for email (The GDPR headache solved) and substantially reduce the collection of the same data by multiple companies. Dū's next phase will enable the consumer to rate the data received from a company and companies to rate (trust score with rewards) a consumer's accuracy of data. The trust score will, over time, develop in the consumer's "credit score" eliminating the need for a Credit Bureau to rate a consumer. Consumers' data will be #uptodate (GDPR requirement) and he/she will be able to monetise the data (selling it directly to companies that require it and will be rewarded based on his/her trust score level - a blockchain initiative)

This is brand new technology. Dū requires everyone to think differently about personal data. Dū promotes the decentralisation of personal data putting everyone in charge of their own data, allowing them to share with whom they choose. Companies do not have to wonder how they will be getting a consumer's consent to share data but return all the data to the consumer that can verify the accuracy, request correction of the data and decide who they want to share their data with. NO CONSENT REQUIRED! In-app consent enables an organisation to easily obtain consent for marketing to a consumer.
Privacy can only be achieved if corporates make it part of their believe system. When corporates made it an essential internal policy and start giving the consumer their data back that they continue to collect on a daily basis (#giveitback), the consumer will be able to take control as a first step towards total control. The platform is very simple to use - a tick and track system - yet data remains within the control of the user. Users and companies can track data usage on the system and even when data leaves the platform (not manually).
Dū has already build an Identity module in app and can easily incorporate into any country's identity system. In an ideal world a Self Sovereign ID is integrated into Dū. This can also be done very easily.
The module for a digital Identity system has been build and can be viewed on the bottom right hand side of the application dashboard. Where an authority is onboard we can allow only the authority to upload the digital identity and ensure that the citizen has been verified. Once verified a green tick will appear above the Digital Identity indicating "verified by a trusted source". Very little configuration is required.
Our platform allows for data portability and this is one of its unique features. We can provide open API's for integration with other systems and we believe in the consumer's right to choose. No consumer will ever be locked into our platform. Our platform already integrate with "Files" on IOS.
With Dū the consumer does not have to do anything except share the data with a tick in a box. The work is done by participating companies. A consumer will require data to view data and documents and we foresee that happening in store (bank, insurance, mobile phone, etc). All data is stored in azure. The application is very small and is merely a "window" that allows for a structured access and view of data and documents. Consumers have all the functionality on the web as well.
Most importantly is that the platform is easily scalable across the world with around 20,000 individual users from every country in the world. In the next 12 months we plan to introduce a Blockchain based "Rewards for Accurate Data" function, where consumers monetise their data - replacing the traditional Credit Bureau/Financial Services/Retail relationship with a decentralised "one on one" relationship with the companies they do business with through portability of data and full control

We have extensive experience in dealing with large organisations. We have started a company in 2002 and successfully sold it in 2014 to the largest ICT and Industrial company in Africa. We understand a startup and the pain that goes with it. As Founder and CEO I have been a Partner at Deloitte where I have started very successful divisions within the firm
In the medium term we want to enable consumers to sell their data to whom they choose to. Currently these companies buy the data from Credit Bureaux. In the future a consumer will be in charge of his own data to share (sell) and we will get a fee for our platform that enables the exchange of data and a trust rating.
We have also in partnership with the Credit Bureau and have developed products i.e. Paperless KYC for AML, pre-populated application forms etc that will be sold to organisations via the consumer (always in the middle)
We also sell early detection of ID theft (and in time the prevention of ID theft) to corporates on behalf of their clients and/or staff.
There are a number of other plans also.
It is the first challenge that asks the right questions around consumer privacy and ability to control their own data. We believe that with MBC our cause would be much more widely "advertised" and we will get the required attention to showcase what we believe is simple yet effective and an imperative. We understand partnerships and our previous business was build on partnerships and this one will also.
Adoption by companies of the privacy and control principles - they need to understand the importance of empowering the consumer with their own data by #giveitback! If you look at what companies are doing around GDPR it focuses exclusively on reworking their existing systems to further "hide" information from the consumer and hackers.
