Poverty in all its forms, within Liberia, remains widespread; with more than half of the population 50.9 percentbelow the national poverty line, according to the 2016 Household Income and Expenditure Survey. This translates into roughly 2.3 million Liberians who were unable to meet their basic needs
We mobilize equal shares capital at the rate of $5 per week per member of the group, and addition to external grants from donors, we give out loans at a 12% interest rate; which together with the loan taken is paid back to the Business group at equal weekly installments, over a period of 24 weeks. The shares capital and interest raised belong to members based how much shares capital is invested
The solution impact the lives of our 250,000 members. The establish family businesses on consumer items, which are sold at slightly below the normal market prizes, in the communities where they live. The scheme is also beneficial to the rural communities where the member live.
50 leaders of the Grassroots Development Services, Inc. have received training on village savings and loans management, financial accounting, and non profit management
