TiPSTER: Public Safety Reimagined

Our nation's communities are being harmed with our current approach to public safety & policing. There is no trusted way for public safety departments to provide a comprehensive approach to transparency of police goals and functions. Strategic and transparent communication should be among the first lines of action for public institutions at all levels.  There is also no standard way for community-based organizations to coordinate and provide alternative solutions to 911. Twenty-three to 39% of calls to 911 are low priority or non-urgent. 

TiPSTER is a nationwide app & technology platform that helps protect public safety with helpful tips, resources, news, & alerts. 

TiPSTER helps the following stakeholders: 

Government agencies consolidate reliable and transparent information from public safety departments to help build support and trust of police officers in their rolls.

Community members support the well being of their communities by staying safe, informed, & engaged with multi-lingual public safety information at their fingertips.  

Community-based organizations showcase and gain support for their alternatives to 911 to allow police to focus on core threats to public safety.  

A broad adoption of TiPSTER would positively impact communities by setting a nationwide standard for communication of public safety information.  This is key to gaining public trust of police officers by consolidating our approach to transparency from public safety departments and reducing calls to 911 by showcasing community-based alternatives.

TiPSTER has been deployed and is being tested as a beta version for 59 communities, nationwide.  After we implement changes to the customer experience based on user feedback, we will roll out our business model followed by a nationwide launch campaign.
