<p>Youth in Texas are directly affected by law enforcement as 50K youth are arrested in Texas on any given year. Our 180° Strong Program is 'Reimaginig Public Safety' through the education of children ages 9 to 18 with our character, community outreach and entrepreneurial classes taught by police officers, judges, attorneys and licensed professional counselors.</p>

What specific problem are you solving?

Our 180° Strong Program will help aid in keeping thousands of youth off the streets and reducing the recidivism rates amongst juvenile offenders because we expand communication and close generational gaps between law enforcement and youth.

Our character and community building classes enrich youth and officers to have integrity and restores trust. Our entrepreneurial classes keep youth off the streets and empower them to earn an honest living while helping heal those in geographical areas who have been hurt the most.

Statistics state that:

In the US, over a three year span, 112 minors were fatally shot by police officers.
15 were unarmed and 12 had toy guns
12 were in Texas

These disparities while heartbreaking can be turned around. Frederick Douglas once said and encouraged us to, "Build strong children so that we don't have to repair broken adults".

Over the next 4 years, through our 180° Strong Program, Young Legacy Builders will expand by taking 400 youth juveniles on a journey of our year long program for $450 each, empower them do a 180° in character and community through our classes with the inclusion of entrepreneurial mentorship.

Explain why you selected this stage of development for your solution.

Young Legacy Builder's, 180° Strong Program, is in the growth stage. We have established and operate an existing 501c(3) organization in which we offer online and face to face classes in character, community and entrepreneurship.

These classes are taught to youth ages 9 to 18 who live in, go to school in or are housed in group homes or juvenile facilities within the DFW area. We have the support of civil leaders in the community ranging from Mayor, City Manager, Economic Developer and Police Chief.

Also, we are teamed up to offer resources of a police officer and fire arm instructor, a foster care business owner, licensed case managers and a mental health/trauma organization.

We are looking to scale up by offering our curriculum to school districts and other correctional facilities. In addition, we want to work with the technology industry to provide a virtual training studio that equips future kidpreneurs.
