City Skill
A web application for the promotion of youth employment to facilitate the obtaining of jobs for the youth of the continent. The application also allows recruiters to manage their recruitment
An application that manages 3 things:
1-Facilitating youth to get jobs;
2-Facilitate the publication of offers and the management of recruitment for African companies;
3-Facilitate the application to tenders in the case of company-company or individual-company;
The application is made on 3 technologies:
-Frontend: Angular and JS libraries.
-Backend: Java & Mysql database
-Recommendation algorithm: Machine learning with python.
In 2019, I was able to suggest 17 profiles to Malian companies. These 17 profiles were all Malians who lived outside of Mali. Most of them wanted to go back to their mother country and work but were afraid of not having a job there. On the other hand, Malian companies were looking locally for good profiles that could technically manage certain projects but to no avail. This is where the City-Skill application comes in; it allows (with its intelligent recommendation system) to put companies in contact with the profiles that interest them and on the other hand to inform companies of the market proposals offered by other companies. It thus contributes to reduce the unemployment rate which is currently very high.
Our customers are of two kinds:
1-Companies looking for tenders and/or looking for competent employees.
2-Any individual looking for a job or applying for a tender.
There are several solutions used and proposed to customers of type (1). However, our solution remains the best because none of them offer both the "tender" and "recruitment" functionality. On the other hand, we have noticed that the filtering of applications was not easy, that's why we have innovated a concept called "Seven Skills", with this tool the choice of the best candidate(s), is only a matter of minutes. We have also incorporated a collaborative and interactive work for the different processes on the application

I started researching the problem since 2018. and I interviewed Malian, Moroccan and French companies.
I also made tests on the versions of the application with people of the commercial domain in the companies and I adapted the application to the results of the tests and suggestion
- Improving financial and economic opportunities for all (Economic Prosperity)
- Pilot: An organization deploying a tested product, service, or business model in at least one community
I spent 3 years studying this project (feasibility, surveys, features,..). Finally, the product has been developed and put in production. The current version has been tested by the company Excilys in France where I was employed. In addition to that, many candidates (about 15) have registered in Morocco.Project link
- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
Before applying for a project in Mali, one must either have a contact in the company responsible for the tender to be informed or hear it from a relative. With our system, candidate companies receive notifications with each new publication.

The solution currently serves three companies and fifteen candidates.
I would like to reach 5000 candidate profiles and 100 companies by 2022.
-Provide employment to at least 2,500 people (half of this year's projected enrollment)
-Reduce the unemployment rate by 0.08%.
I set goals on my Kanban board. And I monitor the evolution of each tag every month
I have lots of obstacles:
1-It is very difficult for me to get in touch with decision makers in companies.
2-Some companies refuse my solution because I use free hosting. And this is not guaranteed for these companies. So financial problems
3-Financial difficulties to make real communication around the product.
4-Financial difficulties to travel to other regions to offer the application
My team is made up of two people, me who is a computer scientist and my teammate who has a legal and HR background. With her HR profile, we manage to refine the functionalities of the web application
Only they pay me 10$/month

We are already doing computer training in Mali since the beginning of 2021.
We can fix and subsidize trainings for girls. This will allow us to highlight the profiles of these girls on the platform. So to facilitate them a job in the company

Our society, Mali, is confronted with a great inequality of employment. Poor people struggle to get a job simply because they do not have relatives in high places. With our system, transparency is mandatory because everything is digital, so even those people without high-ranking relatives have their chance in the world of jobs.
