Masomo Sasa
Masomo sasa is a platform to learn and explore what's happening around the world through education. It uses the web technology by implementing Web Application which works just like an application main difference being that it is a web app. This can be achieved by adding service workers and manifest files on the web directory. It will help many because a web application can be used offline with ease reducing mobile data usage. In addition, it is a cross platform application and responsive to different systems giving the best user experiences.
Masomo Sasa targets to help Africa specifically the East Africa community students from Early Childhood Development to Secondary education. In East Africa, there are over 5 million students who've got no access to quality education. These are now my target students. Impacting the lives of over 5 million students means that the solution will mark a revolutionary change to the East African Community.
Currently my research has a lot of details on how needy these students are. It bothers me a lot to see that over 5 million students have got no access to quality education. How will they help their country? How are they going to help their families? Many unanswered questions crisscross my mind as I think about these students. It's only a matter of time and these students get helped. Getting deeper into the action plan, I have tried to look into an organisation that tries to solve this problem with good results. This is E-limu organisation. Based on my research, the success of solving the solution is still not at the top notch as many users are left out or not aware of the solution.
- Improving learning opportunities and outcomes for learners across their lifetimes, from early childhood on (Learning)
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
I chose to develop a Progressive Web Application(PWA). This means that besides being a website, a user can add the website to home screen or bookmark it for offline usage. It uses the manifest web caching and service workers that store information every time allowing the website to be available for offline usage. At this point, we have designed how the website will look like with proper user experience and interactivity. We have also made a dummy website to test if the offline usage works and how it responds when a user has no internet access. Though it is under development, the success rates of our solution is getting much higher with the help of our members who pitch in new ideas on how to improve specific aspects of the product's design. We have now accomplished the designing of the product but still adding designs that are important and seem to be left out.

- A new use of an existing technology (e.g. application to a new problem or in a new location)
The technology behind Masomo Sasa is Progressive Web Application. PWAs uses service workers to cache memory in a device such that websites can act as applications. This idea is a very great

We plan to serve over 5 million students in the East Africa community these are the number of students who are to receive the direct service and benefit from the solution. Getting all these clients will not take us much time as the solution is demanding based one the needs of the people. So on our statistics, we have very high hopes that we will achieve our target audience and gain popularity in the region.
Impact goals
- Provide sustainable and affordable education
- Make education accessible with ease
- Improve student's interpersonal skills
Our main measuring indicator is the impact of how we have achieved the SDG 4 Quality Education. Has the students been benefited by the solution? What has gone wrong in attaining the solution? What can be done for to the things that aren't going on right? These are some of the questions that will guide us in measuring our impacts and goals.
Our main barriers are audience reach which is a bit costly but achievable with advertising capital. This means that we have to gain more or maybe get partnership from a company in order to sustain our needs as a company. This problem isn't much complex but will be handled over time.
We are a team of able self-taught computer programmers and web developers this makes us ready to implement our solution to the world and make in difference in the education system of East Africa. I am a self taught web developer with experience of 2 years making me and my team legible for doing more in terms of creating the solution.
We currently have no partnerships with any company. We plan on having partnership companies to help us more on the solution and reach out to our target audience with ease.

We are aiming to help students in Africa in which these students consists of girls who at some point undergo Female Genital Mutilation. It has been a topic of interest topic in Africa but very less solutions have been made . I think will be revolutionary change to the problem.

Being a solution to solve the problem of quality education in Africa, our solution will help many needy students to learn and explore about whatever they need to know to get a skill for using it in the outer world. Making great leadership opportunity for the African child.
