Poor planet, rich planet
We strive to raise the level of consumer awareness of youth generations, in order to contribute to our sustainable future! Our goal is to plant a seed of "responsibility".
It's no secret that all global problems are closely related. That is why we want to draw your attention to how a seemingly so close topic for all of us - how consumption and nutrition - affects the well-being of our planet. Moreover, we strive to highlight how our eating and shopping habits now can destroy our future tomorrow.
Now there is no problem with access to information. As many resources as you like, but at the same time all this does not reach the end user and, accordingly, lies idle in the vastness of the network! We want to use our skills as knowledge distributors, so as not to waste «good»!
"What you sow is what you reap."
So, to make it come true we are going to conduct seminars and open lessons for pupils of Plovdiv schools (we will start from local level).
Here is our presentation for providing master-classes:
As the last researchers show, young people think that critical thinking, media and democracy; entrepreneurship and financial competences; and climate change, environment and eco-friendly behaviors are not taught sufficiently in schools Full details: https://europa.eu/eurobarometer/surveys/detail/2224
Obvious that nowadays our education system has to be updated to the requirements of the modern world.
That's exactly what we aim to do!
We want to pay youtjh attention to global problems.
The initial issue that we are striving to solve is the following:
The global food system accounts for up to 30% of greenhouse gas emissions.
«If “Food Waste” were a country it would be the world’s 3rd largest emitter of CO2 after China and the US». - The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
The main target group: children aged 8 to 14 years.
Nowdays we face huge problems with motivation & knowledge implementation in reality. That is why I would like to interact directly with the younger generations - conducting master classes in schools. In these practical lessons, we would not only discuss the importance of an eco-healthy behaviour and a balanced eating, but we would also do self-assessment and self-motivation together during the reporting period.
Rising ecological & consumptional awareness of youngsters in schools (it's tremendously important to sow it in mind of youth generation now - if we want to be healthier and greener in future).
1 step Planting seed
In the first phase, we are planning to perform 10 interventions in schools in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) in order to conduct consumer literacy for children aged 8 to 14 years. We will acquaint the children with our presentations and through the game we will try to captivate them into the world of rational consumption.
- 2 step Watering
We strongly believe that repetition is the mother of all learning. For this reason, after 1 month we will come back for a second visit to talk with the children and find out how are going their new habits with the reduction of food waste. How did the parents react to the change?
- 3 step Harvesting and distributing
After 1 month. We will come again to measure statistical changes and find out how much it turns out to “work with the minds” of the younger generations. On this stage, we plan to make corrections to our program to increase its effectiveness. Afterwards, we will be happy to share the results of our work and practices with other like-minded people who strive to develop the awareness of youth!
- Taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Sustainability)
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in at least one community, which is poised for further growth
For the 2020 about 10 workshops related to rational consmption was conducted in schools by our AIESEC team in Moscow (about 330 people of youth audience).
I decided to develop that idea & to implement knowledge that I have in my current living region (Bulgaria). Here is a very dramatic situation in terms of food wasting, pollution & consumptional behaviour. So, wherever I live Russia, the UAE, Cyprus... I wanna to spread the ideas of eco-friengly attitudes.

- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
Unfortunately, at this stage, our project is not too technologically advanced, which is its significant weakness. We feel the urgent need to move to online, because the use of Internet learning - firstly, expands the audience to which we can transfer knowledge; secondly, it avoids the difficulties associated with the pandemic and restrictions.
Therefore, we feel an urgent need to find like-minded people who will help create an online platform and online lessons.

- Bulgaria
Taking into account the fact that the team of my project has changed due to my relocation, at the moment only me and my friend (2 peopl) are involved in the implementation.
For this reason, I am in search of like-minded people who will help me in the implementation of the project. People on the same wavelength are a tremendous force.
At this stage, we are planning our school visits. The minimum task is 15 master classes in the next 5 months.
As I noted earlier, we are monitoring changes in children's consumer behavior after the completion of the project implementation. The answers received in the forms - we analyze with the initial input data.
Taking into account the fact that the main idea of the project is primarily educational, we cannot get immediately obvious positive results (or to see real impact).
Why?
For example, if I ask you how to evaluate the effectiveness of vocational guidance lessons for 5th grade pupils?
We will be able to get an answer not earlier than in 10 years, when the they will become a graduate and will get a job (if they will).
The most serious barrier is the restrictive measures in connection with the pandemic, which sometimes close access to visiting educational institutions. That is why in the future - our task is to transfer the project online (platform, lessons or webinars - not yet known). But one way or another, we must implement this in order to adapt to reality, and at the same time - to expand our influence and not be tied to only one territory, city, country.
BG Be Active is a union of like-minded people with ideas for positive changes in society. However, it is important that in addition to ideas, we also have the motivation, experience and resources to make such changes!
Since 2011, with each of our initiatives, we have inspired and supported people and organizations to work together for social change - here and now, in small but real steps. We firmly pursue the great goal of an active Bulgarian civil society! ??
How do we achieve these changes? Through daily work in three interrelated and key areas of public health:
* Promoting physical activity and sports⚽
* Caring for the environment and improving infrastructure?
* Cohesion, education and democratization of society????
At the moment, my main partners and assistants are colleagues in the organization of the database. But given that we are primarily focused on promoting sports and developing the environmental situation in the region, we do not have enough human resources to fully immerse ourselves in the problem of modern education and training in the field of consumer behavior. Fortunately, we have excellent contacts with local schools and administrations, which are open and ready to cooperate and apply our developments and ideas.
