Child Abuse Detector will help the kids asking for help when they are being abused.

Children will wear The Child abuse detector, like a smartwatch (that will always be with them). In times of abuse, kids will just need to hold the power button; the watch will at once connect to the kid's school or the local police station asking for help. The school and the police can find the kids through the GPS on the watch and help to rescue them.

There were 2000 cases of this problem in 2020 in Viet Nam which shows us that the problem is becoming worse and worse every day. It is not just the victims (usually children) that are affected by this problem but also the people who live around that area. Factors like drinking too much alcohol, getting addicted after injecting drugs, or just using violence on kids are why there were so many child abuse cases in our community. The consequences resulting from this child abuse problem can make the victim have many seriously injured or even fatal. There was a profoundly serious case of child physical abuse that just happened in Vietnam; the victim was an eight-year-old girl who was fatal after being abused by her stepmother. It is an example of the most serious abuse case we have ever passed. 

Child abuse is currently a burning problem in Vietnam because of the increasing number of these cases. But why is this a dilemma in Vietnam? Vietnamese people often cannot control themselves after drinking too much alcohol or smoking drugs. Besides, the fact that many people like to torture others is also one of the reasons why child abuse is on the rise in Vietnam. The fact that nearly 70% of children in Vietnam have experienced abuse at least once makes it even more clear that this problem is an urgent one that needs to be addressed. Our watch primarily serves children, especially children who are abused. With our watch, kids will no more live in worry and terror. Their lives will be much easier with our watch and without child abuse problems.

To know and understand the population we want to serve, we had to read the news, do some research, and visit the government website. Child abuse issues has been a long topic in the country. There were several initiatives made both by the government and public organizations to address it yet the number of cases are still alarming. The group evaluated these data and identified the prevailing factors influencing child abuse. We have also reviewed online interviews, discussion and forum to further evaluate the situation of child abuse.

The problem of our solution is child abuse. The problem of child abuse in Vietnam is increasingly painful because of the increasing number of cases and increasingly serious consequences.

We are still in the concept stage. We are just developing a wearable device. The group started conceptualizing this idea not long ago and we were connected with our common goal of providing solutions to the issues related to child abuse.

Our core technology is a smartwatch and an app on mobile. We use the smartwatch so it will always tag with the kids, and whenever that kid is being abused, they can always click the button on the watch to ask for help. The app on the phone will help parents or teachers know if a kid is being abused or not. Having a wearable device not only responds to emergencies but also provides a sense of safety to the children using it. There are many innovations of smartwatches these days, but most of the target clients are adults or the working class. These wonders and features must also be extended to children to be used in a wider scope.

We have not launched our watch yet, but for one year, we can already start making a difference by introducing the app to our school, IGC School. IGC school is a promising avenue for us to implement our product for we can have it be tested and evaluated by diverse age groups from primary to high school. We are expecting to cater to about 300 to 500 children in 1 year period.

Our watch will be effective for kids, but why? Our watch is easy to use and just has one button so every kid can use it. Some goals we need to achieve for one year: 

• Make sure that every kid from all over the world gets a watch because we want to make sure that until next year, we will be ready to say goodbye to Child abuse problem.

• In the first quarter of the year, we aim to conduct more in-depth research on our target clients. 

• For the second quarter, we aim to test our products in a small sample and start with our marketing campaigns.

• The thirst ages last quarter of the year will be intended to launch our product in various stages to ensure that kids have access to our device. 

We will measure our progress by taking in customer feedback, which is a customer's feedback after they use our product. In addition, we also aim to contribute in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals related to children: 

Goal 16.2: “End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence and torture of children” 

Goal 5.2: Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation.” 

Goal 5.3: “Eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage, and female genital mutilation.” 

Some barriers currently exist for us to carry out our goals in the next year, we will not have enough funding, and we are still young to deal with the complex situation of the problem we aim to target. We all have a strong willingness to make our innovation possible, but we need support and assistance.

We saw the news that says an eight-year-old girl was abused by her stepmother. Her stepmother has abused her so much that she had a fatal, so we decided to focus on the child abuse problem. It served as a wake-up call for us and being a member of the youth is what ignited our desire to take part in ending violence. We are a group of students from 13 years old and below, which to many is one of the crucial stages of childhood, yet we took the challenge in making a difference to our community.

We are currently in partnership with IGC School. They help us in making our watch and app. IGC school is a good avenue for partnerships and linkages where we can also hold our events in the future. The most important support that they are currently giving us are the trainings and mentorships that they have offered to us. 

We are creating a solution for children who are being abuse, especially the girls. Why? Well, that is because according to statistics, there are more case of child abuse which the victim is the girls than the boys. The reason for this is because girls are usually weaker than boys.
