The Project solution:Medicinales Potentialities Valorization
The project action is Medicinales Potentialities Valorization by Innovative Reforestation, with Tripartite Partenariale Responsibilization-Commitment
Our solution is to practise good governance, transparency and social royalty in order to contribuate in strong resilience in front of climate change and poverty by innovative reforestation.
The project action is Medicinales potentialities valorization by innovative reforestation, with tripartite partenariale responsibilization-commitment
We practice good governance, transparency, social accountability, land tenure security, citizen education, reforestation, business creation, production and transformation of medicinal plants, and distribution, in order to contribute to the strengthening of resilience, facing climate change and poverty. -choose the area of the project, set up a showcase of citizen empowerment in terms of engaged reforestation.
-agroforestry prioritizing plants with medicinal virtue, fruits-vegetables rich in nutritional intake.
-mutation of the valued land appropriated by the families joined, and innovative cooperativization.
-payment of property taxes and rebates
-capitalization.
-modern technology of good production practices: gap, gmp, gep, glp, gcp, gsp, and transformation: supercritical fluid extraction, microwave/ultrasonic/semi-bionic extraction, steam/reflux/flux distillation, superfine spray technology.
-distribution by multi level marketing.
So far the resolution of the Public Administration, to deal with environmental problems, has been made:
-with a paternalistic approach, not a participatory one,
-does not benefit in any way for the budgetary revenue
-simple reforestation and anti-erosion control, without commitments nor written agreements validated by the intervening parties nor the local grassroots communities.
However, the National territory is full of Immense Potentialities not valued and remained in the wild state.
The magnitude of its problems is almost the same everywhere in the national territory.
Almost all Rural Citizens are affected, of the order of 20 million Citizens
The factors contributing to the Problem are:
-Citizen accountability has not taken place in terms of reforestation, Good Governance, Transparency and Social Accountability (GGTSA)
-The actions carried out have not had a positive impact
-Part of the population enters prison, part practices bushfires
-The majority does not have land security for rural agricultural activities
-Activities are majority informal
-Corruption at the level of local Public Administration hinders the right of access to information and the GGTSA
The Local Community does not feel responsible or owner of the assets, does not find direct interests in the family income. On the contrary, the restrictive and repressive approach currently used creates a grudge among them because of the imprisonment of the few members of their family. Instead of protecting the gains, it practices bushfires,...
To overcome all this, our solution advocates a participatory approach that empowers all stakeholders.
The local Public Administration undertakes to reserve 150 hectares of reforestation land, to make the transfer of each valued plot, to facilitate all partnership procedures. It will benefit from the improvement of budgetary revenues in taxes and rebates,
The family undertakes to join the system of innovative cooperativization organized by the Project-Programme
It benefits from the appropriation and securing of land, the increase in income, results of agroforestry activities, acquisition of knowledge and skills, socio-economic structuring in innovative cooperativization.
The locality will benefit from:
-the participatory elaboration of local development programmes, and the corresponding implementation
-the installation of the Vitrine Communale, on a locality adequate to a better visibility.
-Nurseries, Control Plots (CP) and Demonstration Plots (DP),
-Provision of water supply and irrigation equipment.
-Endowment of buildings and modern tools of Training, marketing through the Federation of cooperatives (tablets, android phones, solar panels)
Our solution will be used to:
-The whole planet through capitalization and wide dissemination
-All these needs of valorization and formalization are seen first-hand by everyone in our locality, including ourselves
-We are in contact with individuals and NGOs with expertise in the field through their experiences at:
-the United Nations (Ambato Boeny Regional Development Project in Madagascar, ABRDP, Participatory and Partnership Approach Respecting the Environment), we have benefited from the capitalization of the achievements of this ABRDP Project, especially in terms of Organization of periodic participatory programming sessions, which led to the Participatory elaboration of Village Development Program (VDP) and Communal Development Program (CDP)
-the World Bank (GGTSA/TATAB),
-the European Union (GTDR),
-NGO NY AVO (Operational Village Support and Innovative Cooperativization)
-Companies and Organizations for the Production of Natural Health Products,..
-All these have allowed us to understand the needs of the population we want to serve.
-The reflection on their achievements and their capitalizations allowed us to design and develop our own solution. -We are the first to design the implementation of the valorization of potentialities, in the field of Natural Health combined with the Engaged Reforestation
- Taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Sustainability)
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
We have chosen this stage of development for our solution by what we are for the moment only at the design stage for the search for Funder.
- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
Our solution includes existing technology, as a key element, manufactured equipment, all new and traditional/ancestral, seed technology, ancestral irrigation methods, and others.
- Ancestral Technology & Practices
- Biotechnology / Bioengineering
- Crowd Sourced Service / Social Networks
- Manufacturing Technology
- Materials Science
- Madagascar
We have not yet launched our solution, we plan to serve a number of people that our solution will directly and significantly affect:
The first year :
150 families directly affected by the Project
4 million Citizens through Broad Spectrum Broadcasting
The next year :
1,500 families directly affected by the Project
10 million Citizens through Broad Spectrum Broadcasting
The specific external impact goals that we want to create annually, through our solution, towards which all elements of our work are directed, transformational impact on people's lives, can be summarized as follows:
-150 member families are fundamentally secure,
- 1 hectare of reforestation land is developed in agroforestry by each member family,
-10 operational cooperatives
-10 processing workshops
The indicators will change the requirements of partnerships and of potential funders. They will be objectively verifiable indicators.
Among many other possible indicators, here is a non-exhaustive list:
-Number of:
-tripartite commitment documents.
-families duly engaged.
-families having made the energy detection with "quantum magnetic resonance analyzer", allowing development of the statistics of the needs of the community, elaborated in terms of "intake in Vitamins, Trace elements, Amino Acids,...
-types of plants to choose from, scientifically determined, according to the virtues required by the results of the elaborate statistics.
-plots of land that have been subject to change.
-families having had land security
-families having carried out their obligation in terms of civic responsibility
-transfers of:
- civic education
-learning
-professional training
-participatory programming sessions
-follow-up sessions –Participatory evaluation
-technological equipment acquired and commissioned
-traditional still processing workshops installed
-types of natural health products
-types of vegetables and fruits chosen
-cooperatives organized and functional
-Federation of Cooperatives set up and operational
-partnerships duly established, from a financial point of view, production, processing, marketing, etc.
-Monitoring and Evaluation Officers trained, formal and operational
-people who have acquired a professional occupation
-Showcases for the Valorization of Medicinal Potentialities set up and operational
-official visitors
-positive increase in local Public Administration budget revenue
-Rate of increase in reforestation area
-Positive rate of increase in the income of families who joined
-Positive success rate of seedlings planted
-Quantity of essential oil produced
-Quantity of new fruit and vegetable production
Obstacles will not be able to block our impact, if there are any, they are only limiting and will not be able to block the process.
Possible obstacles that could limit our impact next year are:
- FINANCIAL .
The Partnership Project files with the Donors are being designed and drafted, partnership with the bilateral and multilateral Institutions and Organizations concerned, such as:
– Project-Program
– NGOs
– Embassies
– United Nations (UNDP, FAO, UNICEF, etc.)
– Regional Banks (ADB, etc.)
– Other Institutions and Universities
- TECHNIQUES.
The Partnership Project files with the Technical Services and the partner companies are also being designed and drafted.
- CULTURAL.
The protocol procedures with the Heads of ancestral lineages, for certain parts of their land to be developed, could encounter delay factors.
- SPECIFIC COMMERCIAL.
The various measures taken by the Public Administration in terms of COVID 19 could also constitute a brake factor for the mobility of distributors.
Before discovering this challenge, we are already part of a Non-Governmental Organization, which has many members who are experts in sustainable development. Most have lived experiences received and acquired almost unique skills. We had the opportunity to acquire knowledge through the capitalization discovery made by the Project-Programmes that worked in our area. We were in the process of developing Project documents to submit to various partners, and during this process, this month, this SOLV(ED) opportunity is presented to us.
The life experiences, the process and the different stages of these Project-Programs have helped us to understand the situation of the Problems that we are trying to propose an adequate solution.
Former team members of the Ambato Boeny Regional Development Project, funded by UNDP and UNCDF/FENU have guided us significantly with their contributions, ideas and programs when it comes to the design and the implementation of our solution.
They even promised to supervise and support us, through their expertise and skills, for the implementation of our solution.
· In our case, the experts of the former Project-Programs having intervened in the area even promised to supervise and support us, through their expertise and skills, for the implementation of our solution.
