One-line solution summary.

It’s a machine that melts any kind of plastic and makes it into any shape.

What is your solution?

My solution is going to help recycle a lot of plastic and save money on things that can be made from it. I imagen the machine melting it and making it a cup, which can later be used to drink. People are going to save money on a lot of things. Of course there needs to be a way for the machine to earn money. I was thinking maybe for a small thing 3 dollars and for a big things 8 dollars. My idea is not the best for the economy, but it sure is for the planet.

What specific problem are you trying to solve?

Plastic is killings all kinds of animals, whether it’s a sea turtle or a bird. Plastic is also becoming unusable trash, because no one recycles it. This solution benefits people and the planet, so it’s a win,win.

Who does your solution serve? In what ways will the solution impact their lives?

My solution isn’t only going to impact humans. It is also going to impact sea animals, land animals and air animals. It is going to prevent a lot of animal deaths. Not only does it benefit animals, it benefits humans. Humans are always wanting to save money. Of course who doesn’t want to save hours of work. A person might need a new chair for there child, instead of paying 30 dollars at the store they spent 12 dollars on the machine.

What steps have you taken to understand the needs of the population you want to serve?

I’m really young so I can’t really do anything. I’m willing to help my community with this opportunity. With this chance I can be better for the community.

What is the unmet need that your solution tried to address? Why is it important?

My solution is not yet to be invented, because no one in my family creates things like this. For this to be made I would need knowledge, equipment and time. This is the only bad side about my idea.

Explain why you selected this stage of development for your solution—in other words, what have you accomplished to date?

I am an average middle school girl. I haven’t accomplished anything remarkable for the world, but with this chance I hope I will. I am also on my own which I know will lower the chances of getting in.
