Growomatic
Revolutionize agriculture by providing expert services for growing your own food using minimalistic technologies like hydroponics, aeroponics, aquaponics, and establish a society where everyone grows their own food by 2030.
Growomatic is an youth-led organization that aims to empower
everyone to grow their own organic food in the limited space of their homes as
effortlessly as possible. To do so, we will be employing innovative
technologies like aeroponics, hydroponics and aquaponics and will have a panel
of experts who will assist in deciding the technicalities of growing organic
food in the provided space, allowing for consumers to simply have a therapeutic
and enjoyable time while growing their own organic produce. We’ll be providing
you with a personalized plan and equipment as well as expert consultations on
demand and access to a community of growers!
We also plan on utilizing the surplus made to assist farmers in
developing countries by providing them with our services for free, thus helping
them transition from traditional agricultural methods to modern ones. This will
not only lead to more advantageous benefits for the overall environment, but we
hope it will also bring people together and create a more harmonious and
modernized agricultural society.
Large-scale farming is one of the major things holding us back from a sustainable future. Not only does it cause eutrophication, water pollution and deforestation, but it also is the second largest contributor of greenhouse gases and consumes more than 70% of the world's total freshwater resources.
The impacts of large-scale agriculture are not limited to the environment though, it has been proven that the excessive amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides are one of the culprits behind the current diabetes, cancer and obesity epidemics.
UNESCO has established the fact that small-scale farming or growing our own food is the only sustainable method of feeding the world's growing population. With the alarming rate at which the environment is being deteriorated, this shift needs to be made right now, without any delay.
The problem is, very few people have the time or expertise to do this. Initiating and sustaining a whole family on the food they grow themselves is not an easy task - it requires months of research and planning, and even then efficiency is compromised.
To solve this problem, Growomatic's horticulturists and agricultural engineers would visit customers' homes and create a personalized plan for efficiently growing their own food, no matter how little space they have. They would also continue monitoring the systems using AI and assisting the customers. Thus, by making farming at home more convenient, a large portion of the population is bound to feeding themselves more sustainably.
Growomatic aims to serve the needs of the planet more than the immediate needs of the population. What it does though, is bridge the gap between sustainable agricultural technologies and a sustainable society through expertise.
The initial target population of Growomatic would be those with an innovative mindset, who have always had a dream of growing their own food but have shied away from it because of how tedious it is, love to be surrounded by greenery and wishes to lead a sustainable lifestyle. The primary location of such people would be the metropolitan cities of India, where there is a surging craze for organic food. However, later on, Growomatic would run campaigns to convince the orthodox sections of society too into trying out its services.
Most importantly, Growomatic would allow people to lead a healthier life by reducing their requirement to consume pesticide and fertilizer laden food by growing their own organic food at nearly one-tenth the market price. Along with this, customers would have an immense feeling of satisfaction on consuming the food they grow themselves. It would establish a strong connection with their food as well as nature. Farming has also been proven to have therapeutic qualities, thus significantly reducing customers' stress, improving their mental health and providing them with a new form of relaxation.
Growomatic conducted a survey with 70 respondents to understand people's requirements and perception of our idea. We are also in the process of interviewing prospective consumers.

Growomatic has a detailed business plan chalked out but is still modifying its practical aspects after consulting experts and adopting new research methods. We are currently contacting experts and expanding our reach on social media to prepare people for the acceptance of this idea. We are also exploring short term initiatives or fundraisers to fulfil the expenses of testing our concept at a smaller level.
