RuAfrik
RuAfrik is a project leveraging RFID/NFC to get remote data, it leverages block chain technology to ensure data security.
RuAfrik is a project leveraging RFID/NFC technology to capture data in remote locations where there is little or no connectivity and electricity, it is a custom built device that can capture basic templates to register an individual.
The solution gives the sole right to the citizens been that the system is locally made and thereby securing their data from foreigners. The system would use an end to end encryption and block chain technology to ensure that the government can't use or share the data of a person outside the agreed conditions , this would help to adequately secure data from mutilation and falsification. With the issued card the individual can access all things with it as stipulated in the constitution.
- Idea
the solution is the application of already existing technology to solve how data is captured and used in developing nations with the aim of protecting information and invasion of privacy by external bodies or sabotage
In our design we used low power system built on the NFC technology, the device captures minimal data such as name, finger print template, date of birth and address.
The device was locally made and has a backup power and inbuilt memory that can capture up to 31,000 people in low connectivity areas, the data is saved in a highly encrypted mode and can dump the data in a bigger storage device like a portable hard disk
The hardware can be connected to the already existing systems via an APIs, when data is captured it can be sent via IoT to the database with its encryption, this would now scrap the use of big laptops to capture data in rural communities coupled with insecurity issues, the device is very portable and can be recharged using a 7v solar panel
the device is very easy to operate with just three buttons and the character input keypad, and visual feedback to acknowledge data captured, it doesn't require any knowledge of computers
The device can be access via APIs from other systems with same level of encryption and data visualization to view the data, it can transfer data through the TCP mode to both smartphone and desktop and even servers.
We built in a memory to save the data and also has a backup power, the data can be transferred to a hard disk drive without using a computer, the Ui/Ux is a very simple design with audiovisual feedback requiring no knowledge of ICT to operate
We hope to have these devices in every community for the people to use independently to capture and send data like birth and death to the authority for automatic update, this would mean that the system would be up-to-date and would not require officials to travel to the remote locations anymore except when necessary

Our goal is to expand to other nations through our networks and also ideate on more pressing social issue which we can provide solutions to better the lives of people, we would seek funding through grants and crowdfundings
we want to partner with more professional bodies to get access to mentorship and funds, we also believe that this is a good platform to showcase our product
Cultural and religious barriers, we would be striving to form a relationship with the community and government alongside the relevant religious bodies to help us gain access to the people
