SAVE DEAF RECYCLING INDUSTRY
Plastic Waste harm the environment and wildlife. My solution is to recycle plastic waste into ecological pavers and bricks.Deaf will take the first step to contribute to this mission.
My country is surrounded by more plastic than any other country in Sub Sahara Africa, there is a lot of industry in which produces plastic but there is no other Industry that reduces them. My solution will help on reducing the number of plastic that is being rejected on roads, streets, fields, rivers, and lacs. After reassembling them they will be brought into Industry to recycle into Ecological pavers and bricks. These pave is being made through sand and plastic waste that is being put on fire. My solution will use the new technology of recycling.
The main goals of my solution are:
The goal is to protect the environment by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators.
Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators.
Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials.
Saves energy.
Defending the right of people of disability by offering them a job and strengthening their community
We will use the new processes of recycling by using a machine which will help us to make many paves and bricks as possible.
In my community, people don't understand the consequence of plastic waste and the result that it causes today in our life and on that to come. The second problem which my community had is that '''After the rejection of plastic that is being wasted by the industry my community take the second step on that.
Millions of people who live in my country are affected by this problem of plastic waste because 60% of the field is surrounded by plastic waste, there are not many harvests during these years according to the past years. Because plastic waste destroys the ground.
The consequence of plastic waste is that ;
- Only 0 % of all plastic produced is recycled in my country
- Every minute of every day a truckload of plastic is dumped into the Lacs
- All beaches are surrounded by plastic waste
- 99% of seabirds will be eating plastic by 2050
- There could be more plastic than fish in the Lacs by 2050
- Burning plastics releases harmful chemicals, such as dioxins and furans, into the atmosphere. Breathing in these toxic chemicals exacerbates respiratory illnesses.
These are the problems that I would love to solve in my community.
My people have been spending more than 20 years now using plastic in different ways in their life, they have never understood the deep consequence of this plastic. These Industries have never faced the truth before them by explaining the consequence of plastic waste because they know that if they do that people will be choked. The solution to this huge problem will serve more than 12 million people who live in Burundi because they will understand that they don't need to reject them wherever they see them. They will see that the solution is not to reject them but to reduce them, this solution address their need because it will also contribute to their health and save them.
As I mentioned in my video I have been spending 2 years working on my project. During these 2 years I have traveled across the country to make sure that if my project will have a good impact on the environment, the response to each question I had was ''YES'' it will help more in your community. With that in my mind, I start to Interview the users I mean the industry in which made plastic if they understand the consequence of the product that they made. I did a lot of research for that project.
When I tried to talk with the different heads of this Industry about my project of recycling the plastic that comes into their Industry and rejecting it after being used they congratulate me. Then when I asked them about the support they didn't respond to my request because they know that they produce a lot of plastics and they can't support my project because it will cost them too much. I have already engaged them on that but they were not willing to take action that is why until today am working alone on that project because I believe in charity work.
- Taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Sustainability)
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
The stage of development that I selected above is accurate because taking action to combat for climate change and the good impacts it should has is the only thing that as young men I need to fight for.
My project is a concept because I have never launched it is a business idea that I know by heart and have studied carefully and wish to launch it. I have already tried to bring my project into reality by recycling some plastic and turning them into ecological paves.
- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
- Other
- Burundi
My project will serve and focus on all citizens, 12 million Burundian people.
On the side of working with people with disability, it will save more than 65 deaf people each year.[estimated}
It will affect more than 8 thousand deaf people who live in the country because they will feel like they are in the real world with people in which they think about them.
The impact goals of my solution of recycling will have next year is that it will bring sustainable development in different ways for example.
1. Recycling will have a good positive on the environment because no Fish or Ballen will die because of this pollution.
2. Recycling will reduce landfills.
Recycling reduces the nasty side-effects of landfills, which sometimes leak dangerous products into the environment.
3. Recycling will create jobs
4. Recycling leads to economic and social transformation
When people see how recycling helps everything from protecting the environment to creating sustainable new products, it transforms the way they think. and it will have a big impact on the economic part because more jobs will be created through recycling.
Am still working alone on this solution. But I would love to launch my team once I start my Solution.
