SMART FARM
Smart Farm aims to bring back this amazing tradition and reignite the interest of secondary school students in farming by setting up a farm using technology tools.
The Smart farm is a technology-driven initiative that uses quick response (QR) code technology and AI to help students learn about certain crops and plants on the farm in order to rejuvenate their interests in agriculture. The solution is designed to make the learning of agricultural subjects a thing of interest to students. With this technology, they learn about the scientific name of the plan, economic importance, uses, climate, and region where each plant is being grown.
It aims to ensure that there is food security in Nigeria, with every student learning how to grow their own plants, own their farms within the school with each plant having a QR technology embedded on it.
In Nigeria, about 3.7 million people, across 16 states are facing food insecurity challenges, Food security and Production does not only have economic advantages it also has health advantages and if taken seriously would improve the standard of living of an average African. However, this can still improve as many African countries are still far behind on the utility of modern agricultural practices to boost production.
Solving a problem for which we know there’s an answer is like climbing a mountain with a guide, along a trail someone else has laid. It is rather sad that this incredible activity that promotes learning has long been abandoned and most of our youths are growing up to hate farming as a profession, many students are no more interested in taking agriculture subject in the school, some students opine that farming is for the poor people or illiterates.

- Improving learning opportunities and outcomes for learners across their lifetimes, from early childhood on (Learning)
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
The stage of development for my solution is that Smart Farm also aims to ensure that there is food security in Nigeria, where every student will then grow their plants, own their farm within the school and each plant has a QR technology embedded.
due to some of the factors of land and resources, we were given a piece of land in my secondary school to start the project. we could not afford someone to clear the land so we have to do the clearing since we were taught the process of planting in my school. we added things that we were being taught to solve real-life problems. I as the team lead will create a website containing the details about a particular crop or plant on the farm.
- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
The core technology that powers your solution is the Smart farm uses quick response (QR) code technology and AI to help students learn about certain crops or plans on the farm.

I have planed to serve a lot of people I could by introducing this to different schools to bring their students to visit the farm and make it a research center or a museum for students and youth across Nigeria.
our impacted goals are to have a large area of the smart farms across Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
- Helps to rejuvenate students interest in the study of agriculture
- Helps to turn school farms into a research center
- Helps to promote food security and make food available all-round the year
- The solution will help to redefine how agriculture is being practiced in many urban and rural schools.
we have terminal reports for every activity done on the farm such as the land preparation, planting, website building, and the generation of quick response codes (QR code) or Bar codes, with each plant having a QR technology embedded.
If the students were able to greatly improve in agriculture and Nigeria are able to recover from food insecurity.
The barrier that currently exists for us to accomplish our goal next year is the resources and land issues for the extension of the project and getting approvals talking schools.

I believe that pozen social innovation prize will help accomplish the barriers such as the internet used for the publishing of web application we will estimate that as a pay back to the TEF community innovation hub. we will be in need of a piece of land and the provision of insecticide, and the monthly payment of the agriculturist who study and develop the best practices for cultivating soil, raising livestock and growing crops. This includes caring for and breeding animals, protecting and harvesting crops and managing the soil. There are a variety of career options in this field, but many agriculturists specialize in a specific area.
Also we will need to pay for electricity bills because of the powering of equipment such as laptops, printers etc.
The base is most often particle- or fiberboards, then some layers of absorbent craft paper. The last layers are a decorate paper covered with an overlay. The lamination papers are covered with an inert resin, often melamine, which is cured to form a hard composite with the structure of paper will also be needed to prevent damages paper and resources.
