RevolutionaryAg
RevolutionaryAg is an impact-driven social enterprise creating possibilities for Nigerian agriculture and her most powerful resource(smallholder farmers) leveraging technology.
RevolutionaryAg solution is a 2 pronged innovative technology called Farm2geda and Farmshop, designed to create possibilities for Nigeria's Agri-food system and prosperity for small-holder farmers.
It uses (Farmshop)e-commerce technology to provide cost-effective inputs for small, medium and large producers and promote sustainable and climate-smart agriculture practices with its Farm2geda platform to collectively eradicate hunger and alleviate poverty among small-holder farmers.
Research shows that over 80% of farmers in Nigeria are smallholder farmers, and this group contribute about 90% of food consumed in Nigeria. However, this group is impoverished and economically disadvantaged.
The following are factors that limit the potential of small-holder farmers in Nigeria;
• Small-holder farmers lack reliable and cost-effective inputs and technology.
• Small-holder farmers lack access to effective extension services, technical training and guaranteed/profitable markets for their outputs.
Hence, this has led to widespread poverty and rising hunger in Nigeria's population of over 400million.
Primarily, this solution serves the 80% small-holder farmers who are impoverished and economically disadvantaged.
Also, it serves the over 400million population who experience hunger and food insecurity.
Our farm2geda platform is designed to source, recruit, register and distribute reliable and cost-effective inputs, technology, data-driven advisory, profitable markets e.t.c to small-holder farmers' during an agreed signed contract to increase productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.
This solution will improve the livelihood of small-holder farmers.
Our Farmshop(e-commerce technology) solution is designed to close the gap between small, medium, and large farm producers who struggle to access quality and affordable inputs from the comfort of their farms.
Hence, solution will help to tackle hunger and food insecurity issues.
As revolutionaries, we have experiences working directly with small-holder farmers in the last 3+ years and we understand how technological trends and innovations continue to shape the agri-food system and displace the marginalized group.
Hence, if small-holder farmers are empowered with the right tools and technology, they can become the most powerful change-agent to eradicate hunger.
Also, International Agri-food bodies such as Food and Agriculture Organization, The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, International Fund for Agricultural Development have mentioned how small holder farmers contribute over 70% of the food produced globally and the challenges that limit the potential of this group countless times on paper even till date which include climate change, extreme poverty, lack of access to inputs, markets and technological innovations; particularly to the state of African Agriculture.
- Improving financial and economic opportunities for all (Economic Prosperity)
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
Our solution currently sits on Prototype stage of development, since we have identified and designed this innovative solution, research shows that our solution is proven.
However, we have designed our product and business model using a more innovative approach which fits our potential users (Small-holder farmers).
We plan to test our solution in Odeda community, Abeokuta Ogun State, Nigeria. Based on our research, odeda community population consist of over 70% of small-holder farmers and agriculture is a major source of livelihood in this community.
We plan to test our solution with 100 small-holder farmers in odeda community to validate the impact of our solution.
Then, pilot our solution in different areas of the odeda community with 100 small-holder farmers colony in each local government community in Odeda.
- A new use of an existing technology (e.g. application to a new problem or in a new location)
E-commerce technology.
Use of drones.
Irrigation technology.
Farm machinery.

We plan to serve between 500 - 1000 small-holder farmers when we lunch our solution.
We plan to serve 3000 small-holder farmers in the next year.
- To increase small-holder farmers' household income by 20% in the next year using our farm2geda platform.
- To empower small-holder farmers with cost-effective technology, digital tools, and access to inputs resources needed to increase productivity in the next year using the Farmshop solution.
Based of the UN sustainable development goals
Target
By 2030, double the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers, in particular women, indigenous peoples, family farmers, pastoralists and fishers, including through secure and equal access to land, other productive resources and inputs, knowledge, financial services, markets and opportunities for value addition and non-farm employment
Indicators
2.3.1
Volume of production per labour unit by classes of farming/pastoral/forestry enterprise size
2.3.2
Average income of small-scale food producers, by sex and indigenous status
The primary barrier limiting our designed solution is pre-seed funding which we need to lunch our Farm2geda platform and Farmshop (e-commerce technology) solutions.
Our strength as a team primarily lies in our passion to make a difference and the ability to apply analytical methods, models and tools to develop practical solutions to problems facing farmers and rural dwellers.
The team is well-versed in design thinking, participatory problem solving, use of drones technology, investment and finance, digitilisation and project management.
In the past, team members have been involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of impactful projects such as Centre for Community-based Farming Scheme, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) rural farmers training program, the Emuhi Extension Model Village, PRO-Cashew and Business Women Connect Project implemented by Cultivating New Frontiers for Agriculture (CNFA), and TechnoServe.
Hence, for the design of this solution we have been able to leverage the above experiences and skills gained working with both rural farmers and international organizations to address the problems of access to inputs, technical advisory and finance that has historically limited the productivity and income of Nigerian farmers.
