FarmCode
We provide Data transparency services in the Agricultural value chain for improving performance and financial inclusion to smallholder farmers.
OUTREACH TRADERS provides backstop technology in Agriculture value chain on ensuring that farmers are assisted with valuable information for financial gain. With our FarmCode platform that integrates and links all farmers entities, farmers and on farm generated information a code is generated and assigned to a farmer whereby that code is used to track and manage farming performance though kilimodata.info platform as a result a farmer is offered necessary required support like access to financial support, appropriate application of agronomic inputs, access to market information.
There are more than 500 million smallholder farmers world wide, In sub-Sahara Africa the challenges still persists smallholder farmers will need to double productivity to meet demands by 2050 (FAO,2017).

We provide an improved inclusive technology that trigger proactive decision in the Agriculture ecosystem where as our competitors operate as vertical vertical business model which results in users needing several different systems to achieve a spectrum of tasks. Our horizontal model fosters rapid growth and innovation in the industry by allowing multiple providers to work with a common framework as a result the vertical models are becoming our complementors instead of being our competitors.
Our platform involves data sharing in order to ensure transparency in the agriculture value chain. We provide private key that ensures user data protection and privacy to only authenticated user who is granted access privileges at defined levels (read, write and execute) and public key which is meant for sharing data by granting access privileges to only authenticated entities that directly offers support to farmers.
By use of our FarmCode platform where by a code that is assigned to a farmers and respectively entities does progressively and proactively generate valuable information in the agriculture value chain. This is cost effective as because when it is comprehensively used by a particular population of farmers might mean gathering a huge amount of data about those individuals, their behaviors, farming performance, networks, likes and dislikes.
We base on local operating procedures in designing and development where by users are involved in order to understand how they operate and even farmers entities on figuring out how they provide services and support to customers and finding out the limiting factors. In order to be inclusive during development we use normal applications and tools that are already known to users and entities and improve, we understand the technological literacy and we strengthen existing entities through which we base to servicing the wider audience.
We are focusing on the use of Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), whereby it will act as bridge and allow unrelated software programs to communicate with one another. Interoperability on different applications will be allowed hence data can flow regardless of how each application was originally designed.
We have a version that works online and offline and also expecting to implement books that can be digitized basically for users with low literacy and our platform produces visualized data for users.
To be more inclusive not only offering our service to farmers but also includes the wider population of entrepreneurs for financial inclusion. In five years we will become a major Blockchain Platform where by users can perform transactions and own digital wallets. The platform will calculate user spendable balance and authenticating new transactions that can be verified thereby ensuring they're actually owned by the spender. This platform will become sustainable as it is implemented following the existing managerial structure at whereby we create ownership from district to village level leaders and even entities that interact with farmers.

Considering to the fact than we are working with small scale farmers and would like them to attain optimal performance and not fail to apply inputs/agronomic inputs. We are already in talks with Tanzania Agriculture Development Bank (TADB) to be funded under Rural Innovation Fund that they have initiated.
As land is the most important form of easy access to collateral for loans, farmers will able to use that property as security when borrowing, Only 1/3 loans of the value of the land will be borrowed to finance Agronomic inputs and Our Interventions.
We also offer tractability service which will enhance farmers to link their products to the market, we will be charging per Kilogram/Packaging. Currently due to the the market on Magugu aromatic rice being abused farmers are not enjoying the premium price that is 2250 to 2400 Tanzanian shillings per Kilogram and end up selling at 1500 to 2400 Tanzanian shillings per kilogram. Securing this loss its a call for financial gain.
As study from FAO 2017 shows that by 2050 farmers needs to double their production in order to meet the food demand in Sub-Sahara Africa, we would be grateful if our application will be successful we will be able to contribute towards the society.
We have no Drone/Animated Aerial Vehicle for scouting of farm for soil and plant health and even a Drone for application of Pesticides and fertilizers that means even though we provide agronomic advice but still we are not able to reach our optimum performance.
We work hand in hand with farmers entities that are Irrigation schemes, Warehouse, Credit and finance (SACOS) which we find that it is a great means of penetrating to the wider populations of farmers, as a startup we require more to be involved in capacity building and funds.
