MegaStore.com
A mobile application that will be used for registration of data, hospital transactions, and during eelections.
This application will be widely used for registration of data, hospital transactions, and during elections. It will be made up of three icons (basic info, hospital, and election), a self-help tap, and a search feature.
The “basic info” icon will be used to store basic biographic data (name, date and place of birth, gender, parent’s names, and many others) and Biometrics (iris scan, fingerprints and face image) to ensure the account is claimed by a single individual. Basic login information (email or identity number and password) will be saved and used to access the account to extract information during hospital consultation, establishment of national identity cards, passport, and many others. For children between zero to ten years, their account will be managed by their parents. Individuals above ten years can include other information such as contacts, email address, security question and many others.
The “hospital” icon will be used for hospital transactions to store medical records (sickness, cause, and treatment received). This icon will also enable users to share basic health data with any medical attendance and also to reach out to any healthcare service during critical conditions.
Voting will be conducted using the “vote” icon. Individuals eligible to vote will use this icon for registration and upload the required documents and information from the “basic info” section (this will help reduce the need to travel from one place to another for registration and also to ensure every eligible individual is registered). On the day of election, individuals will just have to hit the voting button and choose any candidate of their choice. This will help eliminate fraud and ensure transparency.
The self-help tap will enable users get basic information and directions on how to navigate through the application.
The search feature will help users to search for any data they desire within a shorter period of time.
- Idea
This application is innovative because most developing countries, particularly sub Saharan African countries still use notebooks for hospital transactions. Some individuals oftentimes misplace these notebooks which create difficulties for some medical attendance to make use of past data during treatment and know the type of treatment the patient have been taking.
Also, there is high rate of fraudulence during elections in most developing countries because we practice the paper based system. Through this application, transparency will be guaranteed during elections.
This solution demonstrates “privacy by design” because any transfer of personal information will be approved by the account owner.
For any login initiated, a notification will be sent to the user’s mobile phone or through email to ensure it is the user who is accessing the account.
Also, they will be multi-factor authentication during password retrieval to help ensure privacy.
Since most developing countries use national identity cards, voters’ card, and birth certificates for identification, and this application will contain information contained in those identification documents, the solution can then be incorporated to function with these already existing identification systems.
A self-help tab will be provided to give users access to quick information that may solve their problems more efficiently and effectively than having to exit the app and go through the process of contacting support.
It will contain a search feature to enable users find the content they need quickly.
The application will be free downloadable.
My solution ensure interoperability because users already in possession of a Facebook, email, or LinkedIn account will be allowed to use the same credentials to sign up so as to eliminate the need of storing many login information.
The application will contain a draft section to enable information to be stored offline which can be later on uploaded to cloud storage.
This application will contain many languages ( including native languages) and each icon will be accompanied by an explanation of its role and a voice note for those with low literacy and numeracy levels to access the features with ease.
My solution will impact many people over time because most individuals in developing countries will have the opportunity to exercise their civic duty (compared to the recent case in Cameroon which recorded a total of 6.7+ million registered voters out of a population of 25+ million people).
Individuals will not have to travel for long distances for registration and to polling stations to vote and election results will be released on time rather than waiting for weeks for the results to be released.
Also, the need for making one and the same documents time and again will be evicted.

I am not working with any organization at the moment. But I hope to find one soon.
My skill in communicating to the lowest understanding and in the two languages of my country which is French and English and also the local “pidgin” English will help me attract the different resources I need to succeed in developing my solution.
Also, my skills to operate electronic devices such as telephones and computers will also help me to gather some resources.
Creating this application will help me gain theoretical or practical knowledge from research and experience which will enable me to transfer the knowledge or expertise for a fee in order to support the sustainability of my project.
Also, the application will be incorporated to display contents (products, services, or companies) for payment.
I am applying to the mission billion challenge because I believe through this challenge, I may get connected to other individuals to work with in solving these problems.
My participation will advance my work because if I emerge the winner, I will use the money to further my education in order to have a better insight of computer programming (I graduated from high school in August, 2017, since then, I am not able to go to college due to my family’s financial condition).
Some of the key barriers for this solution to succeed are
Some of the health personnel will have to deal with data they did not source and it can be overcome by collaborative dialogue between the patient and the medical attendant.
Also, some patients will not like the idea of sharing health information with different healthcare personnel so there will be need for governance and trust among the two parties to facilitate sharing of health information. It can be overcome by sanctions to health personnel who try sharing those information to third party.
