Rescue Recyclable
A technology that identifies the recyclable waste that individuals throw away every day, maximizing the chance for reusable products to be assembled.
75% of the wastes in the United States is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it. In order to maximize the wastes to be recycled, we propose a technology to identify waste that could be used to identity reusable products such as biodegradable waste, can, etc.
According to statistics, 80% of the things we dispose can actually be reused or recycled. These products include glass, tin, paper, chemical products, food and more. However only 8% of plastics and 27% of glass were recycled, more could be done to transform the world into a sustainable future for future generation. Waste not only affect the land issue but it is also extremely toxic for the environment causing air pollution. With scarce resources in this world, a more advanced recycling system should be implemented to save countries worldwide.
Anyone around the world to maximize the recycling process, for more sustainable communities, and to assist communities that might be lacking infrastructure and technology to identify recyclable wastes.
Although Rescue Recyclable is a newly pitched idea, the team had been contacting relevant parties, firms, and government officials who might be interested in the project and are actively looking for collaboration. We are also looking to collaborate with local institutions to work on technological research.
- Taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Sustainability)
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
As of now, we are reaching out to possible partnership parties to work on the research, pitching, and implementation.
- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
Identifying the waste with recognition technology such as AI to detect waste that could actually be reused and recycled.
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Biotechnology / Bioengineering
- Imaging and Sensor Technology
In the first year, we plan to implement this project initially in Hong Kong after successfully developing the technology along experts. If the business plan goes well and make great impact in the community, we plan to expand the project to Asia, then around the world in countries that would like to make use of our technology.
This technology will serve less developed community where there are lack of infrastructure and technology to generate sustainable waste program, and to developed community where the majority of waste are also currently being excluded from the “recyclable” category. We plan to make this technology as affordable as possible to meet every communities, financial circumstances.
We hope to measure the impact by the number of communities that we expanded to and by the number of waste that were recycled compared to when there was no such technology.
We are currently in the process of research and development of the technology and is actively looking for professionals advices and guidance on specific technological areas where we must improve on.
Our team have some experience in business proposal and innovation idea pitching, such as the Alibaba Jumpstarter challenge and Tiger Global Business Challenge. We are positive that we could prepare a professional and well structured solution.
