Our Solution is the production of High Quality Beans Flour  aimed at erasing tedious and strenuous processes involve in preparing common beans foods like Akara (Bean Cake), Bean Pudding, etc.

Mariam's Flour and Kitchenette (MFK) is a combined innovative approach by a team of intellectual social entrepreneurs committed to contributing to the Agro-allied value chain and food systems in Africa. The company’s main business is the production of processed and well packaged Beans Flour for domestic consumption and food industry usage. 

Beans Flour Foods such as Akara (Bean cake), Moi-Moi (Bean pudding), Gbegiri (Bean soup), Danwake (Bean dumplings) etc. are highly consumed and prepared in various communities across Africa and Abroad, People usually buy beans and take it to local grinding units. These units are not necessarily maintaining Proper  hygiene and difficult to come by in urban and some rural areas. And high quality Beans Flour products are generally scarce with too little supplies in the Market, these problems are really depriving a lot of people from consuming beans in its various forms. 

We buy Beans directly from the wholesale Farmers, we then oversee our professionally well trained workforce and provide them with necessary tools and equipment needed for processing the Beans into flour. The  Beans  flour is then packaged and distributed to the various markets, local shops, supermarkets, restaurants and other food industries.

Our Solutions recognizes the importance of the global sustainable goals, therefore, our goals is relative to the SDGs and aim on achieving sustainable food systems, food security, economic growth, responsible consumption and production, good health and wellbeing, industry innovation and infrastructure and also addressing other food challenges we face, including food wastage.

Beans  is a major source of food under one of the major  source of protein in the West Africa region especially  in Nigeria. In  this area beans is being consumed in a variety of forms. A lot of these forms require processing i.e. grinding it into a powder- form. Beans products such as Akara (Bean cake), Moi-Moi (Bean pudding), Gbegiri (Bean soup), Danwake (Bean dumplings) etc. are highly consumed and prepared in various communities across Africa and Abroad, People usually buy beans and take it to local grinding units. Our Product is uniquely coined, and because it has too little supply and high scarcity rate in the market, this makes the demand for the product increasingly high over the years.

One of the food crops grown in Nigeria is Cowpea {Beans}. Cowpea is an important source of protein in both urban and rural areas of Africa; and Nigeria is also the largest producer and consumer of cowpea in all of Africa. More than 8 million hectares of cowpea are grown in West and Central Africa.

Our solution will directly impact the lives of not just our operating communities but it will reach a large targeted market which include Nigeria as a whole, a major part of Africa, and also a significant number of communities in the Europe and Asia.

Beans are a source of protein to the body, Health Organizations advises that we should take at least a plate of legume a day in other to reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and any other health-related issues.

Beans Flour is highly patronized and commonly consumed by majority and product exits in a monopolized market, therefore this solution will improve economic growth and responsible consumption across various communities of the world.

This Idea took us over two years to research it product need, customer acceptance, competitive advantage and growth potentials, and from all findings, the solution happens to be highly needed as the product availability is highly low with no awareness and technology to increase production. 

Our research discovers that over 7/10 of Nigerian's population consumes beans food made by beans flour, and over 5/10 of Africa eats beans flour food, but this beans flour has little suppliers in the market.

After engaging some of the existing suppliers of this beans flour, it was discovered that they totally operate in a monopolistic market and which they encourages potential entrepreneurs to join the industry as it is highly profitable and will ensure sustainable  development within in our communities.

Our Product (Solution) has been tested and launched, and have been deployed to some few numbers within various communities.

Prior to the deployment and sales of our product, our solution had passed through evaluation by some experts in the agrotech and agro-value chain sectors, also the National foods and drugs control agency have certify and commended the high quality and effectiveness of this solution, and these has earned us positive outcomes which include access to materials and industry data.

Our Solution has received positive feedbacks and comments from over a 1000 customers who have patronized us, also, our business website and social handles have recorded positive remarks and reports that proofs the viability and feasibility of this solution.

Our Solution relies on advance plants and machineries to be successful.

Our solution is uniquely a new idea that involves technology like milling machine with cyclone to grind, Dehuller to peel off the outer shell of the Beans, Aspirators to dry these Beans, Sealing machine for packaging, and Power Generator.

Aside the physical tech, we would also be using software and apps to streamline our sales operations/activities.

Our Solution has served over a thousand people from different communities, we have make sales via our online platforms and on our websites, we have supplied supermarkets and retail stores, we have gone to offices and homes, we have dispatched and delivered to customers in far communities.

In summary, I will estimate our total reach to 1,500 persons.

And we plan to serve over 20,000 persons in the next one year.

My Main Impact Goals are;

1.  To Create a great workplace to reduce youth unemployment and also help improve economic growth.
2. To innovate solutions that are high on-demand/unavailable and also collaborate with other vendors/business to help improve our collective sustainable developments
3. To produce and supply products of superior quality and value to the market, thereby enriching the Lives of consumers, customers, communities, employees and all stakeholders.
4. To build an industry that Contribute fully towards the global SDGs (sustainable development goals)
5. To be the leading food and agro-allied group in Africa and beyond.

My already mapped out metrics and strategies to help me achieve this goals include but not limited to;

• Working with the right team and workforce
• By utilizing the best and required resources and effectovely managing these resources for their best usage
• Maintaining consistency, commitments, hard work and dedication to vision and mission.
• Personally developing my techniques by engaging in trainings, seminars and workshops.
•   Making research and implementing new ideas and positive feedbacks

I introduced  survey questions to get feedbacks from consumers, and we also carried out timely progress-evaluation report and exercise by specifically evaluating our production quality, product acceptance, economic impact, operations, sales, assets and liabilities, feedbacks and product reach.

We plan to also measure our solution progresses on food security and storage, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and also reasonable production and consumption.

Our Major barrier is finance, we hope to acquire adequate resources which include  raw materials, plants and machineries, workforce and decent operational workplace to help us succeed.

We Believe and we are certain that an access to just a little finance/funds or Partners/investors who are willing to help us grow and achieve our goals will elevate our project/solution and help us succeed in implementing a solution that would impact the lives of many.

MFK was founded by Mr. Yakubu Yahaya in 2019, an enthusiastic self inspired entrepreneur with vast and broad experience in Management, Production and Leadership.

The Team is made up of experienced, well trained and highly intelligent professionals who have undergone studies at various graduate and post graduate levels with broad experience in agriculture, economics, human resources management, production, operations, , finance, and management.

The Team has severally inspired my decision making and conceptual thinking skills because they posses some level of knowledge, creative thinking ability, innovative skills, research ability, high interpersonal and communication skills, computer knowledge, analytical and design skills.

Their commendable track record of past experience is exceptional and an asset which has helped me to see ideas beyond boundaries and make substantial implementations that yielded positive results and successes.

I currently partner with Rilyah Grains and Mohis Venture on a contract agreement to mutually help our businesses grow.

I buy quality grains at good rates from this companies and in turn they recommend my products to their customers and clients.

Our Solution is fully devised and aimed at impacting social and economic systems. Our solutions will impact lives of every individuals it serves which include youth employment, reduction of food wastage, increased food security, responsible consumption and production, good health and wellbeing and enhance industry innovations and infrastructure.
