WE AS UBUNTU AIM TO SOLVE THE GLOBAL PLASTIC PANDEMIC BY USING MACHINE LEARNING INCORPORATE INTO ROBOTS, TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN DIFFERENT  PLASTICS AND AID US IN THE FIGHT.

IN SIMPLE TERMS THE SOLUTION WE HAVE PRESENTED IS A ROBOTIC MECHANISM WHICH USES MACHINE LEARNING AND PROGRAMMING TO ACHIEVE A PLASTIC FREE AREA.WHAT THIS MACHINE OR ROBOT WILL BASICALLY DO IS DISTINGUISH BETWEEN DIFFERENT PLASTICS AND ATTRACT THESE PLASTICS USING DIFFERENT TOOLS AND MECHANISMS EMBEDDED IN THE ROBOTS SYSTEM.THEY WILL BE A VERFICATION EMBEDDED SUCH  THE FACE ID TO ACCEPT DIFFERENT PLASTICS

THE SPECIFIC PROBLEM WE ARE TRYING TO SOLVE IS PLASTIC WASTE WHICH HAS FILLED OUR CITIES AND ENTIRE WORLD WHICH IN RETROSPECT ALSO HAVE BAD  CONSEQUENCES KILLING OUR MARINE LIFE AND MANY MORE.THE SCALE OF THE PROBLEM IS LARGE IN THE COMMUNITY OF SOUTH AFRICA SUCH THAT ACCORDING STATICS SOUTH AFRICA OF THE 59 MILLION TONNES OF GENERAL WASTE  PRODUCED IN 2011 ONLY 10% OF THAT WASTE WAS RECYCLED AND THE OTHER WASTE IT SADLY IS CURRENTLY IN OUR LANDFILLS,STEAMS,RIVERS AND OCEANS.THE FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO THIS PROBLEM IS PLASTIC USE BUT I UNDERSTAND WE NEED PLASTIC BUT SO LONG AS WE WAIT ON THE SUBSTITUTION OF PLASTIC IN THE INDUSTRY WE CANNOT ALLOW THE PLASTIC THAT IS ALREADY HERE TO CAUSE MORE HAVOC AND CAUSE MARINE LIFE AND PLANTS TO GO EXTINCT.THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS PROBLEM ARE BLOCKING MARINES LIFE AIR SYSTEM WHICH LEADS TO AN UNFORTUUNATE DEATH NOT ONLY THAT BUT PLASTIC LEAVES THE SOIL INFERTILE AND DUE TO ITS HARMFUL CHEMICALS LEAVES WATER TO BE DANGEROUS.

OUR SOLUTION WILL SERVE THE COMMUNITY OF RUSTENBURG AND THE WORLD .THE SOLUTION WILL ALSO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF THE MARINE LIFE DYING BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC POLLUTION.THE PEOPLE ARE UNDERSVED AND DISEASES AND SICKNESS ARE SPREAD IN OUR COMMUNITY THORUGH THE UNHYGENIC STATE.THE PEOPLE OF SOUTH AFRICA SUFFER FROM UNHEALTHY WATER SUPPLIES WHICH IS INDUCED BY DRAIN BLOCKAGES DUE TO THE PLASTIC FOUNDS IN THIS DRAIN.THE ELIMINATION OF PLASTIC UNTIL THERE IS A SUBTITUTE FOR THIS PROBLEM WILL ADRESS THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE DIRECTLY FOR SEA ANIMALS AND PLANTS WILL NOT GO EXTINT GIVING THE ECOSYSTEM A BALANCED LIFE CYCLE SO IT MAY RUN SMOOTHLY.THE ELIMINATION OF THIS PLASTIC WILL ADRESS THE NEED OF CLEAN WATER FOR CLEAN WATER WILL BE ABLE TO ACESS COMMUNITIES FAASTER FOR THE HARMFUL CONTENTS PLASTIC IS DISTRIBUTING IN OUR WATER WILL BE ELIMMNATED FASTER WATER MEANS MORE LIFE.

I HAVENT SO FAR FOUND ANY ORGANISATION WORKING ON THIS PROBLEM IN MY AREA UNLESS ITS THE MUNICIPALITY CLEANING THE STREETS.US CREATING THIS SYTEM WILL GIVE US MORE TIME TO FIND A SOLUTION WITHOUT A NUMBER OF PEOPLE DYING.

THE REASON I CHOSE THE STAGE OF CONCEPT IS BECAUSE THIS IS STILL ALL AN IDEA IF IT IS NOT PUT TO ACTION.THE IDEAS NAME IS PLAS UBUNTU FOR WE ARE BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE OTHER.THE IDEA IS POSSIBLE BUT NEEDS FUNDING AND A GROUP OF PEOPLE WILLING TO MAKE IT WORK NO MATTER THE TIME PERIOD WAITED IN ITS DEVELOPMENT.

The solution uses an old technology that has been advanced over the years which is machine learning. The use of a robot will be programmed using machine learning and coding to be able to perform basic functions alongside materials so it does not disfunction in the water. Once the robot has been invented and made with the system we will embed a verification system that will enable tools to be used to attract the different polymers.

The number of people I'm expecting to serve in the year is about 50000 people for the solution will take some time to implement but once implemented the solution will move smoothly changing many lives and curbing the spread of diseases and extinction in the life of marine animals and plants

The impact goals I hope to achieve are having a planet that is clean and green again without harmful materials such as plastic harming the ecosystem and its natural order of things such as the food chain.

Well i will achieve this by entering similar competitions but not only that although i am in my last year of school i aim to take time learning machine learning and finding ways to solve problems and implement solutions in our current world

The indicators I aim to use to see the impact of my solution is the number of clean water supplies reaching cities villages and countries for plastic contaminates water not only that but the number of sea animals that will die during the implementation of our solution small changes and consistency will breed huge changes as the solution is implemented we aim to work with companies to create a substitute of plastic for the making process of plastic releases harmful gases into the air which causes a blanket of carbon to be made in the causing heat not to leave our atmosphere and reflect back down on the world increasing heat and climate change

The barriers we have are the fact that I am still in school and don't have the resources or connections to access a program or robot parts or any robotics engineer but with these barriers comes a responsibility to work consistently on the idea and many other on how to make our planet survive 

I don't have a team so far but I can so far tell you my background.I am a black man living in South Africa and was terrified of the fact that the world was going to end soon if we didn't make a change and I knew if I don't take a stand who will . This concept was developed by the idea that all people are different and make different impacts on the world. The team we will create will be based on the concept of UBUNTU which in essence means we are because other people are so working or creating solutions will be behind serving from the back and loving others like ourselves
