Our product- “AquaDecontaminator” is a novel, fast and cost-effective comprehensive water-purifying solution & Biological-Chemical-elements removal-technology with a blueprint of less wastewater production.
AquaDecontaminator is a novel, fast and cost-effective water purifying solution & Biological-Chemical-elements removal-technology.
We made raw water sanctioned by a 500rpm pump to 1st grade RO. 1st grade RO with RO Membranes of 0.0002 micron pore size removes dissolved salts, As, Cd, Cl, Pb, etc. Then, it will move to the Mineral filter, Carbon filter and Ultrafiltration system. Here, Mineral Filter removes fine coarse impurities and dirt with 0.45 micron polypropylene filter. And, the Carbon filter removes chlorine etc. In ultrafiltration, foul odor and other things are initiated to remove. From it, water goes through 2nd grade RO, then mineral and alkaline cartridges for maintaining their quality. Now, comes- Arsenic Detector. Pure waters and wastewater is later on separated. Detected-out and possibly pure water goes to the UV Ray chamber so that bacteria and other harmful things get fully ended up. After refined by Post Carbon Filter- making water drinkable, water moves towards the drinking water tap from the UV-ray-chamber. The wastewater is 10mg/l with 91% purification costing $41 and costs too less electricity.
Our recent visit to icddr,b made us aware why diarrhea-like-diseases are dominating the human body harmfully. We did a few initial findings in PubMed like databases and found the presence of contaminated water. According to WaterAid, 73 million people use contaminated water in Bangladesh. We have taken steps to find why they are not able to overcome the problem despite having water purifiers. We found problems: (i) Financial Crises, (2) Purifier’s less efficacy. Our AquaDecontaminator is a perfect solution as we are ready to provide the water purifier at only $70 (product development cost= $41, electricity and other cost= $5, where our local competitor- RO+UV+UF+TDS “Pureit” and “KENT” is providing product around $295; but also ours purifies at 91% efficacy rate- result from our experiment showed, where they have efficacy around 70%/60%- that we experimented too with the same type of water by the January 2022. Our solution also beholds new features like UV Ray Chamber, Taste-filter, and other modern technology- that made us unique than them. To sum up and mention- AquaDecontaminator is a solution in solving this problem more appropriately than any other way, so far, used in the world.
Initially and primarily, we would like to consider ~22 million people living in Dhaka- the capital of Bangladesh to determine our market size. Later on, we have our plan to extend our market in Chattogram and ultimately aim to spread our service over the country. As discussed previously, people living in these areas are greatly affected with water contamination, that’s why we have targeted them. As per our initial plan— as Dhaka is quite a big city, if we just consider only one small region having ~2% of population, there would be an extreme reach out of ~365K people. Furthermore, if we can reach only 1000 families, thus 2000-3000 people will be benefited through the product primarily at the beginning. After being successful with our aim to impact over and reach out 3000 people, we will move forward to achieve the goal of ~365 people. Thus, ultimately, we strongly believe that we will be able to reach out targeted ~22 million people living in Bangladesh. And, if our product gets proper market need, we have a long term plan to spread it over the global market. That's why, none will have to force himself/herself to drink contaminated water.
During January, when one of our team members had to rush towards the hospital of icddrb, he was so shocked seeing the painful circumstances being faced by the patients. Later on, from the in-charge medical officers, he came to know that it is for diarrhea or cholera like diseases. However, later on, returning and solving the purpose, he sat before internet and searched in PubMed like databases about it. Finally, found the problem analyzed eternally- focusing on the water contamination problem.
However, we made researches for understanding the problem later on, but not at the very beginning when our idea arrives. We researched with two types of parameters:
Primary: During the first two weeks of January, we conducted over-phone interviews from 69 people residing in different parts of Bangladesh. Our interview result showed that 100% of them told us that they somehow suffer from water impurity problems- that impacts upon their health. Reason is financial crises and even evidencing the less effective purifiers despite company's advertising that they provide purified water.
Secondary: We went through multiple research papers from the beginning of our finding process. It stated that ~73 million people in Bangladesh are suffering from this problem. More than half of the number are from rural areas.
It is to mention that the needs of people are not at least spear-able. That' why, we arrived with a perfect solution against their needs.

We have selected Prototype as a stage of development because our team is already established with the conceptual idea and ground-set. And not only we are finished with that, but also we are finished with the development and production of the technology.
This one is a new idea that originated from us during November of 2021 when we found the health related problem associated with water decontamination during a visit to the research institute. Since then, ground-sets have been finished by the first week of December 2021. By the third week of December, we were successful in building the model computationally. We created this physically too with, for completing some experimental works- from there we used data here. By this January's ending of 2nd week, every accomplishment of our project finished.
Now, we are ready for the next step to accomplish.

Our innovation is based on mechanical-science and robotics. It is a unique innovation made up of different new components (UV Rays and etc.) combination acting effectively in this sector- where we use additional stuffs even in addition to RO+UV+UF+TDS with too-low cost. Also, to mention, it results out 91% efficacy in water purification and 100% bacteria and dirt removal with 5/6 times lower cost- which has not been done by our competitor purifying companies. And, these are the things of making us unique and unique one.

Since our innovation has been accurately innovated and created a few weeks ago, we haven't gotten much time to launch it or to make a reach out with our innovative technology with a huge people's community.
Consequently, we have found no scope or opportunity to serve the general people with our goodwill innovative technology targetedly and appropriately. But the thing is- as we have developed our product and so far haven't launched yet, our next plan is to launch it successfully.
Although our ultimate goal is to serve those 2 billion people over the world, however, it is not really possible to reach out this high amount of people at the very first stage and at this very beginning. So, we have planned to proceed and market ourselves gradually from local level to divisional and divisional to national and from that to the worldwide context.
So, within one year, we are planning to reach approximately 5,000 people residing within our locality- who are actually suffering from this problem. From then to we will facilitate the localities with our products after we generate revenue through selling to those 5000 people, then we will reach out gradually to people and finally to country's affected 1.8 million people too.
Our first and foremost goal is to market our product appropriately and serve the people with our innovative products and with its benefits. However, it is not such an easy task to accomplish in. In this case, we

Team Aquadecontaminator had built the best ever water purifier in the world with respect to the selected criteria proposed in Goal 6 of " UN Sustanaible Goals " about Pure Water & Sanitation.
Our cost effective purifier is accessible to all the people all over the world.
About the only thing we're facing right now is the low amount of resources and monetary funds and high amount of Tax on the Electronics Items used on our machine. Additionally, we need consultancy in developing our ground-set in business, technology and economics ground. And, we think that the same will be faced within the targeted next year.
However, we've already contacted to equip 6 institutions with our machine and we hope to equip 50+ hospitals in next year.
Currently, we're only focusing in our National Market but we are on the way of expanding our product to the International Market in upcoming year. We had talk with a few international investors(Atony Mitchell & Andrew Gerry from US) about that, but it is a great matter of sorrow that we didn't get any confirmation from them yet.
The biggest challenge we might facing next year is about getting the right investor for us to accelerate our products with the need of consultancy over above-mentioned spheres.
Our team is filled with people of diversified skill-sets. We are a team of two people having skills in Business, Economics, Technology, Robotics, Marketing. However, we started from two but we will extend our border gradually as long as our product gets its need from the public and creates associated works.
Our team leader Arjya Sreshtha Aich, a high school student, who is immensely interested in Robotics, Technology and Marketing sectors. His interests helped him achieving the Gold Medal at Asia-Pacific Robotics Olympiad and brought successes from different national grounds. Also, he has volunteered in multiple teams that made huge connections of him.
Our another team member Ahnaf Ilman, a high school student, who is highly interested in Business and Economics that made his one research abstract accepted in a national conference in Bangladesh. During his high school volunteering days, he made huge connection with some amazing people of Bangladesh.
Another team member- Suvadra Urmeela Aich, is a student having expertise over public relations and pitch presentation with an extensive experience in volunteering to many organizations.
Although we are a small team but have the wish to seek advisors from our network and monetary funds from different places.
As our product is not too aged and has been invented only a few weeks ago, it is so tougher for us to make partnership with leading organizations. Whatever, we took steps to accomplish in with partnership but the outcome is still pending with results as we are on a very short period of time.
But, we believe that we will get the partnership proposal approved by the targeted organizations.

We found the water contamination problems to be unsolved so far. As The Pozen Social Innovation Prize works to look into some amazing innovations related to social, environmental, educational, and economic sectors; we think we are the best proposed team to qualify for it. The reason is: our product meets the criteria.
That's why, we think that we are qualified for the project.
