Depp Learning app for help to improve the skill in critical reading in kids

What is your solution?

Smartlearn is an app that uses artificial intelligence to help the kids to read more critically, the app will give recommendations of books and text about age, level, and preferences, for each book read the algorithm will be more personal.

after each book was read, the app will give 5 small questions and with answers not longer than 90 words, the NLP model will use this feed for improving the prediction feed to the neuronal network model. with these tools the app will recommend text and books more personal and a few tips to the kid to improve them skill.

What specific problem are you trying to solve?

An app is a tool for improving the skill in critical reading, these skills will help the kids to structure their own ideas about the world around them, in several studies how is say in "Fostering 21st-century literacies through a collaborative critical reading and learning analytics environment: user-perceived benefits and problematics" by Jennifer Pei-Ling Tan. In Colombia my country this skill, in general, is at a low level, in the PISA exam we were the last place, in the statal exam average score is 54,60 /100. And on average a Colombian read 2.7 books very law of America average.

The app will make easier the experience to read because will read a text about your preferences, age, and level, so, the exercise of reading will be fun and productive.

Who does your solution serve? In what ways will the solution impact their lives?

My community is a school in the capital, and the result of different exams shows the skills in critical reading are correlational with the understanding of other signatures how science, math, or foreign language.

The school and kids are working for improving these skills and let me put into practice the development of the app in the institution, it's great for helping the community in the improving of kids education.

The app could be a good app for schools and institutions public and private that wants to use the technology in pro of quality of education.

What steps have you taken to understand the needs of the population you want to serve?

I count with volunteers, a different group of kids into the school where I work as a data scientist, the school let me use the information and apply the app to the kids to feed the app and develop this one.

The potential users are kids for institutions and schools who want use the technology to help the kids in them academical growing, the government also have different new programs in the use of Technology in the education, so, the government would be a potencial client.

Explain why you selected this stage of development for your solution—in other words, what have you accomplished to date?

I'm working and studying different ways to develop the app, already have a Recommendation system for books and text, and another side a draft of the NLP model of critical reading. I chose "concept " because the project still is a potential product in design. in this stage of the project could study new and innovative ways to take the same problem and then develop a prototype in the next stage with the best information and development possible at the moment.

I have thee lucky of work in a school and they let me use their information for doing testing of future prototypes.
