The main problem we are trying to solve is the in awareness about Cervical cancer, we are creating awareness of the dangers and its long lasting effects in the woman race. Every 4% of 240 women in the rural area of Lagos have idea of what cervical cancer is and the rest do not have any idea or believe that they can be affected by the disease. About 73.3% are affected in our community.
Lack of quality education about cervical cancer, expensive healthcare facilities, stereotype are some of the factors contributing to the problem in our community.
Consequences that result from the problem are : increase in death rate, patients discovering at the last stage, expensive medical bills which could lead to self medication
Our solution serves women , with our solution, Women with cervical cancer are able to detest it at an early stage, start early treatment and are treated by professionals.
Another impact that our solution has on women lives is that they are able to get HPV vaccines to prevent cervical cancer, young ladies who have little or no information about cervical cancer are given an opportunity to be educated on cervical cancer, get free doctors appointment and checkups.
In Nigeria, 53.3 million women are estimated to be at the risk of developing cervical cancer, in Nigeria, cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer in the country and in women,
Women who are currently underserved in Nigeria are mostly women who live in rural areas because they are limited to well equipped medical facilities and resources. Women of low socio economic status are at the risk of this condition, women who live in the slum in Lagos state are at high risk of having cervical cancer because they may not have idea on what cervical cancer is.
With our solution, we can connect women to health care providers with the aim of giving them the best treatment at a less expensive rate
We have conducted studies on the awareness of cervical cancer in our communities, only 10 (4.2)% women in this study were aware of cervical cancer and the rest do not have idea about cervical cancer. we prototype our solution with over 2400 women in Alimosho local government.

Nigeria has a high population of 56.2 millions of females aged 15 years and older who are at risks of developing cervical cancer, current estimates indicates that 14,081 are diagnosed every year with cervical cancer with eight of every ten of them presenting at an advance stage, and 12,075 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and 7,968 die from the disease. Our solution has not been launched, with our solution, the Vicar team plans to improve the lives of more than 50% of women who are diagnosed with cervical cancer at a late stage by creating a platform that can connect women to health care centers where they can get the treatment need at an early stage ,especially those in the rural area of Nigeria who have little chance of accessing services ( screening, vaccination and treatment) .
In this way, our solution can also reduce about 20% of women who are diagnosed with cervical cancer and decrease the rate of women who die from the disease.
Through our solution, Vicar to create more awareness in different areas of our community in Nigeria where women and the underprivileged are not excluded and are provided with enough information and education about cervical cancer through symposium and other platforms. Vicar also wishes to partner with health care centers who are equipped with the materials needed for cervical cancer treatment in order to connect women to such health care centers screening, vaccination and treatment.
We intend to achieve this impact goals by organizing fund raising events,
Eliminating cervical cancer contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals and targets, supporting the SDGs, we plan to measure our progress towards our impact goal by ensuring healthy lives and promoting well being for all ladies( goal 3), promoting lifelong learning opportunities for women(goal 4), empowering and supporting all women( goal 5) and Reduce inequality within and among countries.
Financial support to execute our solution is one of our major barriers, educating and getting people to use our App is another barrier for our goals to be accomplished, while trying to accomplish our goals, the approval of the ministry of health and getting health care centers to partner with us in order to create more awareness about our App and get more people to use our App is a barrier that exist for us to accomplish our goals
