Latenscracia - AI Teachers for Latin America

Enable young people in Latin America to access personalized (AI Platform), exciting (Creator Economy), and curated online quality education (300+ Free resources and tools for students).
Latenscracia is a carefully curated directory of resources and tools for Latin American students who want to stay relevant in a world where you can never stop learning, Latenscracia saves you time, it is the list of the best places to learn for free on the Internet on the following topics:
Computer Science, e.g. blockchain, programming, Mathematics for CS, etc.
Marketing and persuasion, e.g. product, public speaking, SMM, negotiation, etc.
Languages, e.g. English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
Theory of Knowledge, e.g. statistics, fallacies, decision making, mental models, etc.
Tools for Students, e.g. Jobs, No Code, scholarships, Wellness, AI Tools, Books.
It also has a web app, where “AI teachers“ explain topics in CS and TOK. The use of Deepfakes, NLP and TTS allow a girl to learn about programming with Ada Lovelace or with her favorite TikTok Star.
The two problems I want to solve are boring online STEM education and the difficulty in finding good sources. My goal is to help meet UN goal 4, especially target 4.4 (1).
1. Boring Online STEM Education
51.4% of Mexican kids are bored of online activities, (2), but not only in Mexico, last year my friends in Brazil were telling me how much they were bored in online classes, I think the Latenscracia app can solve this, having your favorite celebrity teaching you about CS is powerful to attract young people to the STEM world, I lived a bit of this when I was 15 years old, I made a funny video explaining the republican history of Peru for my schoolmates, this video ended up being played in Peruvian universities (3) from this experience I learned how powerful an entertaining education can be.
2. Young people who can't find sources for studying
On the internet, you can learn almost everything for free, the problem is that some young people in Latin America are working most of the day to survive, for example, 22.57% of Peruvian children between 7-14 years old were working in 2015 (4), this does not allow them to afford to spend 12 hours a day on the internet looking for good sources to study, that's why Latenscracia wants to give fast education with its directory.

My target audience is Latin American young people from 15 to 24 years old, approximately 105 million people(1), they are eager to learn and want a community where they can feel free to express their ideas, a place where they can learn the basics, and then together solve the most interesting problems in the world. Currently, most of them know that they can learn for free on the Internet, but they don't know how to get good sources. Sometimes they are simply not attracted to the world of mathematics or science, because no one has ever explained to them how useful it can be, others end up scammed by buying courses that are of no use to them. My job with Latenscracia is to make education accessible and attractive, and not only that, to show them that they can win scholarships to study in the best universities, that they themselves can create their own projects to solve problems in their community or work abroad if they wish.

I am a 20 year old Peruvian-Bolivian, within the Latenscracia target audience, the best way to build successful startups is to solve your own problems.
The idea was validated when I was testing a Latenscracia MVP in my TikTok community (@axelriosg), an excel with a compilation of free courses with certificates, it went viral, the video had 390,000 views, I had to create a Telegram group where more than 3000 people joined in less than 12 hours. Another TikTok with a tool for students had 800,000 views. Latenscracia is what I would have liked to have when I was a kid.
P.S. Here is the link to my educational TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@axelriosg?lang=en
- Improving learning opportunities and outcomes for learners across their lifetimes, from early childhood on (Learning)
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
I selected prototype because although I made an MVP and tested it successfully, as I explained above, it is not the final version of Latenscracia, which is intended to be a website similar to (https://startupstash.com/) and an experimental web app with a simple algorithm:
1. You choose your name and preferences;
2. You choose what you want to learn;
3. Choose your celebrity teacher.
Afterwards, a simulation like brilliant.org is displayed in which the chosen topic is explained.
Depending on how the app experiment works, I will add more features to make it a fantastic online learning experience, if it fails, the whole focus will be with the Latenscracia website, where I could orient it to a kind of DAO so that everyone can choose more democratically what sources to add and remove. This last paragraph are ideas, and I know I'm full of biases, so I accept advice.
- A new use of an existing technology (e.g. application to a new problem or in a new location)
It is simple, the web page to have the Latenscracia list sorted, then on the same web page, the "AI Teacher" would use DeepFakes, NLP and TTS.
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Software and Mobile Applications
- Brazil
- Mexico
- Peru
As I wrote above, the Latenscracia MVP, reached 3000 people, just counting the people who made an extra effort and joined the Telegram group. The difference was that that was an PDF, now it's going to be a web page so I approximate that the average success case could have 30,000 unique monthly visitors, this data I take from the monthly views of (startupstash.com) a page similar to ours, and from the time I sent organic traffic from my TikTok to my YouTube video which achieved an approximate of 30,000 views. So that would be the number, in the case that I am the only promoter of Latenscracia would be 30,000 unique visitors per month (MAU), in the best case, the "AI Teacher" with the face of the content creators would be a good marketing, I imagine a: Learn Math with your (insert your favorite influencer). In that case we could go very far.
Impact
By 2023, create the most fun, personalized and effective online education for Latin American youth.
By 2023, substantially increase the number of Latin America youth who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
Product
To make Latenscracia website by the first quarter of 2022.
Conduct 40 interviews with potential customers through a "My ideas" button on the page where young people can put their top 3 things they don't like about Latesncracia and their top 3 things they like.
Growth
Reach a minimum of 30,000 young Latin American unique monthly visitors (MAU) to Latenscracia website by the second quarter of 2022 through TikTok viral traffic.
Reach a minimum of 20,000 registered users in Latenscracia by the second quarter of 2022, in order to be able to send them the Beta of "AI Teacher" in the third quarter of 2022.
I use, as you can see above, OKRs. To measure them, I need to create my own Latenscracia metrics.
For example, for Impact OKR Number 1
X% of young people using Latenscracia admit to saving time in finding resources and tools to study better.
X% of Latenscracia students admit to having fun and retaining information better.
For OKR Impact Number 2
8% annual GDP growth in Latin America for 10 years.
I have been thinking a lot about this metric, neither the UN has a good metric defined for target 4.4 (1), I think the metric for target 4. 4 should not be measured by how well we use the computer(2), it should be measured on how good we are at solving problems with it, a great way to measure this is to get the whole Latin America to grow 8% per year for 10 years, I know, it is a very difficult challenge, but that is why Latenscracia wants to create a community of young people who want to solve problems and who can get the necessary skills without any barrier, also attract those who don't mind solving problems through a good marketing with their favorite influencers like the "AI Teacher". I like this 8% metric because it is not a vanity metric, if it is achieved Latenscracia may not even be named, it will be a work of all, if it is achieved there would probably be a giant decrease in Latin American poverty.

The only “barriers” that exist are technical and financial.
Technical for the creation of the “AI Teacher” I would have to hire AI Engineers or learn by myself, the latter would take a few months; on the other hand, there is no problem with the content curation website of Lantescracia I can do it myself.
Financial, because I need to pay for hosting, the domain I already bought. I could use WordPress and that's it. If we want to move faster, I could use a NoCode tool like Bubble.io.
I am a young Latin American student. The difference is that since I was 15 years old, I spend 12 hours a day researching the best ways to learn online. The TikTok I started was educational because I always had very good grades in school, I was valedictorian. I don't consider myself a smart person, I'm dumber than most people, but from time to time I have creative ideas and effective action. I like to explain things easy, I once created a song for my Biology class to teach Mitochondria. (1)
My father is a poet and my mother is a Pilates teacher, I think my desire to learn and teach comes from them. When I left school, I worked for a year selling beauty products. Then I went to Brazil to live alone for a year, at that time I went to study Marketing in an Institute, then I returned to Peru for a year to teach myself English. Now 2022 I returned to Brazil to study at the university, at first I had thought advertising, but in 2021 I had a lot of time to think. I like more computer science, I was never very good at mathematics, so I was thinking, until I came up with Latenscracia, the best way to learn is teaching. I don't consider myself the most knowledgeable about Edtech. The more I learn, the dumber I feel, but in that time of research I discovered that I want to use most of my life designing a better quality education for everyone.
I am not working with any, I hope in the future.
