Green Quest
A gaming application for children (5 years and above) to spur interest, educate, and analyze behavior towards Climate change adaptation and environmental protection techniques in form of quests.
Green Quest is a gaming application with a well-designed user experience to engage and enlighten players on climate change adaptation and environmental protection through well-structured game quests, making climate advocacy fun and effective.
Deploying APIs and maximizing Data analysis, Our Application is a primary source of Data for the Analysis human behaviour and response towards plastic consumption and other major sources of Greenhouse Gases,
hence aiding decision making in new methods of tackling climate change.
Green Quest utilizes Graphics, Augmented Reality, Cloud, and Mobile Gaming technologies to enhance the delivery of Climate advocacy to encourage climate change adaptation and environmental protection amongst Children from the ages of 5 and adolescents.
The problem I am solving is Climate change ignorance and indifference in African communities, Globally, over one trillion plastic bags are produced and used annually, and less than 5% get recycled. In Nigeria, an estimated 50 billion plastic is used annually Plastic is mostly derived from petrochemicals, extraction, and transportation of these fossil fuels is a carbon-intensive activity. Emissions from manufacturing ethylene, the building block for polyethylene plastics, was 184.3 to 213 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent according to the CIEL report.
Through these statics, it is obvious that there is a need for re-orientation towards plastic consumption, as the current consumption patterns are based on convenience, affordability, and durability of the plastics not considering the adverse effects that can be a result of improper disposal and continuous consumption, utilizing the dominance of the internet and smartphone access which There were 104.4 million internet users in Nigeria in January 2021. In Nigeria, 46 percent, currently under the age of 15.The number of internet users in Nigeria increased by 19 million (+22%) between 2020 and 2021. There were 187.9 million mobile connections in Nigeria in January 2021. Internet penetration in Nigeria stood at 50.0%in January 2021. A study by NPD Group has determined that around 91% of kids aged 2-17 play games. This shows that Nigeria is a good geographical area to pilot this solution even as it can be replicated in other parts of Africa and globally.
The Green Quest will create communities in primary and secondary schools In 2018, Nigeria counted 22.4 million children enrolled in public elementary schools and 5.5 million in private schools. The goal is to reach out to a large percentage of these schools virtually and physically in their local communities reaching at least 1500 schools
Climate change is having a large impact on Nigeria with and without the knowledge of its citizens. Sharp increases in extreme heat are affecting the many millions of people without access to air conditioning or electricity.
Our project will contribute to the health of our environment through:
Education and Enlightenment of the Individuals engaged with Game Application, conferences, and Training
Mindset re-orientation towards environmental conservation
- increase in brain’s gray matter.
- Improvement in better social skills due to the collaborative nature of the quests; Past research involving children found that those who played more video games were more likely to have good social skills, perform better academically, and have built better relationships with other students because of the social and collaborative component to some types of games.
- mental health benefits.
I have conducted Research with Covenant University with over a thousand students on the problem and how it affects them
I have worked with the Green institute as a volunteer in the Green kids club where I host virtual conferences for children in primary schools.
I have created a community on Discord and Instagram with over a hundred users with diverse members sharing feedback on software elements and experiences on Climate change and environmental protection.
- Taking action to combat climate change and its impacts (Sustainability)
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new use of an existing technology (e.g. application to a new problem or in a new location)
Game development maximizing C++ and unreal engine and other software applications such as the Application and program interface, augmented reality in the expansion of the project to create education and advocating for climate change adaptation and environmental protection, and Big Data, Data analysis to collect and manage and analyze data collected from the mobile and web-based applications in order to make better decisions in the application, as well as government, polices and private sectors.
- Big Data
- Software and Mobile Applications
- Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality

We are currently serving 128 people on Instagram, and a growing community of twenty-three people engaged in our discord community, engaging them in zoom conferences and training on climate change even before the soft launch of the Green quest application.
I plan to serve a thousand five hundred schools in the first three years through school communities in primary and secondary schools, by opening voluntary organizations, " Green Quest Club" in primary and secondary schools to provide direct impact on climate change adaptation, also the application will be free and open on various platforms such as google play store.
Green Quest Impact Goal for Next year include:
Our project will contribute to the health of our environment through:
Education and Enlightenment of the Individuals engaged with Game App, conferences, and Training. We intend to officially launch Green Quest Clubs in schools and have weekly training on Climate change adaptation techniques and annual conferences and competitions for young entrepreneurs looking forward to contributing to sustainable development.
Environmental conservation; through our physical and virtual engagements, There would be monthly cleanings and campaigns for plastic pollution and environmental degradation which will contribute to better health of humans and the environment and improve diversity.
increase in the brain’s gray matter, through the engagement with the "Quest" there will be increased learning capabilities and improved memory, along with an increased sense of self-awareness in the children and youths.
Improvement in better social skills due to the collaborative nature of the quests and conferences, creating a movement of Climate action.
Key Indicators for Impact goals include
1. Number of Active Application Users
2. Number of participants in conferences, training, and Cleanups
3. Reduction of illness rate in communities due to environmental pollution such as malaria.
4. physical Reduction in the environmental pollution in schools and communities
5. Number of replicated actions in the birth of new Non-governmental organizations and social enterprises
The barriers currently existing include:
1. Financial support: Currently we are building the low fidelity version of our application but we would require more financial resources to expand our application optimizing augmented reality technology
we also require financial resources to support physical training and conferences.
2. Technically we could use some support from experts as my team consists of beginners and intermediate experience ranging from 1 to 5 years of experience.
Role: Founder/CEO, Application designer
Experience:
1-year Research on Biodegradable technology
