Education above all

The solution aims to provide Tunisian youth with external opportunities, free tutoring, and involvement in Changing the educational system.

My solution is mainly about creating a platform designed for Tunisian youth to help them get access to free education and external opportunities and a chance to make an impact in their educational system. High Gifted students across Tunisia are generally top 3 students in our high schools, and ask them if they would join the platform as tutors that learners refer to . All these students will get a certification from the Ministry of education and the website. We will dedicate significant prizes to the top 3 rated tutors at the end of each term, along with other awards for top 3 rated females. Additionally, the platform will contain external opportunities and internships for these students to boost their intellectual and social skills. Beyond that, the platform will also offer a carefully selected cohort of ambitious students who desire to write policy documents to the Ministry of Education based on intensive research and experts perspectives. These documents will include a problem that Tunisian students suffer from and the proposed solution.

The educational system in Tunisia is failing significantly, more than 11 thousand students are dropping out of school every year,the unemployment rate is exceeding 16% and a massive majority (approximately 73%)of students are not satisfied with the educational system.The major problems are that Tunisian students do not have enough resources and opportunities to obtain first hand knowledge and boost their soft skills that they will certainly need in professional life.Added to that,students do not have access to free classes where they work on what they learn in school.In fact,these classes are very costly and not everyone cannot afford it.Above that,students want institutions to hear their voices,and know exactly what they are suffering of inside of classrooms .

My solution will tackle many problems that Tunisian students suffer from. First, this platform will include opportunities and internships that the students can take part in but don't know about, it will also offer free tutoring classes that they request based on the certified tutors that will work with us, it is also an opportunity for agents of positive change to make an impact and share their valuable ideas within a cohort of highly talented people in creating the policy documents. For tutors, our platform will offer recognition of achievement for the ones who got the most positive rates and contributed significantly to the development of the platform. It will also encourage high gifted girls to invest in their potential and engage in teaching others.

I have been working for 4 years in a national organization called the Youth Clubs Association that pleads for a better educational system in Tunisia and share awareness about the importance of engaging in extracurricular activities and having a social life. This experience contributed a lot in forging my knowledge of the situation of education in Tunisia and learn about the major problems we face during 4 years of hard work and research.

I have also interviewed students from different backgrounds as well as teachers and I posted a survey on social media to specify the need of my community.

I made some researches ,interviewed potential users and made surveys to learn about the major problems and I started thinking of this idea so it is just a concept.

It leans significantly on softwares since it is a platform.

In Tunisia, we have approximately a million students and around 1437 high schoolers. At the beginning of the startup, I aim to start testing my solution in my city which is Sfax, serving  10000 students and enrolling tutors from the same region . If this solution works well in Sfax, I will work on broadening it to the whole country.

Next year,100% of the students enrolled will have access to external opportunities and internships ,80% of students will benefit significantly from the tutoring offered and around 10% will contribute to writing the policy document and making an impact in education. Added to that,100% of our tutors will get certified and will be recognized for their achievement in collaboration with the Ministry of education and a number of distinguished volunteers will be offered prizes.

I will measure my progress by achieving the monthly targets to achieve the quality education that I dream of in my country. I will also have an accountability buddy for whom I will present my weekly goals and discuss with him at the end of the month to see what I have achieved and what targets were not met, and the reason behind it so that I improve for the following months. 

My barriers are mainly financial ones since coding that website will be costly, and I can not create it. Additionally, such a project requires a lot of marketing that cannot be done without some financial assistance.

My team and I have been working for a national organization that pleads to better the educational system in Tunisia. We took part in plenty of workshops with various students all across the country. We took our time to hear their problems, partnered with many international associations. We were delegates in the World Innovation Summit for Education to raise the voice of injustice, fight all odds, and show the world that we want to change.

In this association, I was the regional assistant in charge of external affairs, responsible for striking partnerships and negotiating with sponsors. Other team members have been working in the marketing field and Finance. Thus, I reckon that we are well-equipped to deliver this solution appropriately.

We will partner with the Youth Club Associations and its partners since we share the same vision.

I qualify for the HP Girls Save the World Prize because our startup highly encourages girls to tutor students and offers them multiple leadership opportunities.

The solution qualifies for this prize since we aim to improve education which is a mandatory human right.
