NUI is a childrenswear project that emphasizes the inclusion of visually impaired users. It is based on understanding the social responsibility of the designer in the creative process of fashion making.
People with limited visual perception are too often physically dependent when it comes to dressing. This can lead to limited development of personality due to a lack of stimulation as well as a lack of personal taste.
For this reason, it identifies the key elements in the daily lives of children with visual impairment in terms of clothing and it reformulates and recombines traditional elements of the textile industry to respond positively to them. The result is a new proposal of universal clothing, designed for children and giving special relevance to people with different visual abilities.
In addition, the proposed garments aim to guide the child in the learning process of dressing. For this purpose, it uses a range of materials depending on the user's age (determined by size) and incorporates more complex ones as the user's size increases. Thanks to this, by the age at which the user will change to adult clothing, they will be able to use all kinds of components.
