Denga Logistics Limited
we are a digital health platform and a network of drones and motorbikes connecting hard reached health facilities.
we are bridging the road infrastructure gap by leveraging on technology and drones to transport essential medical and pickup medical samples. This system optimizes lab reports, automates the whole lab process, interprets lab reports and provide differential diagnosis and possible treatments. It understands the demands of each facility and helps manage its inventory.
poor road infrastructure that leads to poor health outcome and the carbon footprint produced by vehicles. the world has over 3.4 billion people living in rural areas. The Zambias rural population is at 9.9 million people, long distance to the hosipital, poor public transport, and poor roads.
Zambia has over 1,600 rural health facilities, unfortunately these facilities face tremendous challenges in receiving essential medical commodities due to poor road infrastructure. This creates a shortage in medical stores leading to prolonged diagnosis and poor management of patients, prolonged illnesses, complications and needless deaths. It’s so unfortunate that about 478 health facilities are cut of during the rainy season. Community members are advised to relocate if they are to receive medical services. This is so inconvenient because there are pregnant mothers that need a safe delivery, under five children that require routine vaccination, chronic patients that require close monitoring and refill of drugs.
it improves the overall health outcome of community members. It reduces the disease burdens in communities, it improves the efficiency of health services. Reduces the logistics cost and reduces the carbon footprint by 68%
we have done a thorough research both theoretical and physical in the most affected Zambian areas e.g western province in Kalabo district. We have so far engaged with different stake holders .
- Improving healthcare access and health outcomes; and reducing and ultimately eliminating health disparities (Health)
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
we have so far registered our solution with the relevant stake holders and regulators. we have a working pro type of our system on Android application and website.
- A new use of an existing technology (e.g. application to a new problem or in a new location)
we leveraging on technology and drones to transport essential medical commodities to hard reached health facilities and pickup medical samples for laboratory testing.
We are developing a digital health platform that uses AI and Machine learning in optimizing lab reports, interpreting lab results and giving a diagnosis and possible treatment options, managing and medical inventory.
The system allows healthcare providers to request or schedule for a delivery.

we currently not in operations, we are working on starting a pilot program by April, 2022 and it will benefit over 1.2 million people. In the long run our solution will be able to support 9.9 million people over a period of 5 years.
we are starting with 30 health facilities that will be connect to a state of the art laboratory facility and state of the art blood bank via our network of motor bikes and drones. We will start with putting cooling systems on the motorbikes, the riders will pay us for installing the cooling system. These motorbikes will be able to transport the medical commodities and medical samples.
after six months of operations, we will introduce a freight of 2 drones that will be doing the last mile deliveries in hard reached facilities and picking up lab samples.
We have put in place specific objectives to help us attain our goals in a more realistic way.
We will track the following indicators;
- reduced maternal deaths due to available blood and oxytocin
- reduced number of deaths secondary to anemia ( deaths will reduce to available blood)
- reduced admission rates ( reduction in prolonged illnesses due to availability of drugs)
- reduced complications and preventable deaths.
- reduced under five mortality ( due to availability of childhood vaccines )
-
- enough financial capital
- good working environment to help coordinate the team
- bureaucracies in the government delaying approvals
we have an experienced team with over 21 years of combined working experience ranging from clinical sciences, public health, general medicine, entrepreneurship, Data science, computer science, full stack development, AI, ML, Aircraft engineering, and Aeronautical engineering.
our team is so passionate to creating a good healthcare supply chain system that is environmentally friendly and creates a situation that allows rural community members to readily access medical services.
UNFPA, UNDP, USAID, CIDRZ, ZCAA
These organizations are doing health promotion activities in the most remote areas we will help them to have an effective delivery of health services to the rural community members by making Deliveries in a fast and cost effective manner. the ZCAA ( Zambia Civil Aviation Authority) is regulating our drone operations.
