BIDO
Born Identity Day One (BIDO), Citizenship registration system from the day a child is born.
For some years now Tanzanian birth registration has been using paper, where a baby is enrolled in a log book and a parent is given a paper with serial number from the log book which uses to obtain a birth certificate. Four years ago the government has brought a national identity system, but this system of national identities is registering citizens manually and it becomes very difficult to register citizens as it require someone to provide many documents which some of them they dont have, most significant identification of the birthplace of parents.
With our BIDO system this issue of citizen registration on the national identity system will be very simple, because the important information of the child will be automatically incorporated into the national identity system the day the child is born, this will reduce the child's registration chain when he or she needs a national identity. It will also reduce the cost for the government. It will also help the citizen when he needs any services because his/her information is available at one place where schools, hospitals, banks will be able to access it fast and secured.
- Idea
This is the new application of the technology and new process for solving Identity protection and identity registration.
This registration system will play a key role in protecting the identity of the registrar, since the child's birth system will take important marks and register them in this system, marking the DNA sample file number, Finger Prints, birthplace, parental information. This system will be integrated with the states National ID system, passport control system, the Tax Identification Number system, the Central Bank system. This will help greatly protect the child's identity in the future and also the government's ability to identify its citizens' information so that it can provide timely service without long-term search for information when citizens need services. This system is mobile app, as is now known as Africa's largest part of the world. with mobile networks, and also mobile users, and in Tanzania we have the advantage of a national network of data that has reached many rural and urban areas, this system will be very easy to use.
Our registration system is a android mobile app, this makes this system low cost and also easy to integrate with government systems. Currently, several government and banking systems are connected to mobile apps so it will not be difficult or expensive to make this system to be connected to these system too, and many people know the use of mobile phone, especial android apps, this will be greatly help reduce user training costs.
This system will be simple and user friendly because it is just collect the details of the Baby Name's name, parent names, birthplace, date of birth, finger print and file number of DNA samples and registering in the national identity system and be able to provide Birth certificates, And when a child is 18 years old, he or she will be given a national identity card, a voting ID card and a passport when required.
Yes we will provide OPEN API for integration with other systems.
The app has more of Icons to explain each procedure, the app is in local language. The app has few steps/modules to overcome low connectivity environments.
I see the next five year of well organized registration, Data collection and Data security, also quick and easy for government to provide services to the citizens. This solution will also be used for health and educational purpose by adding few modules into it.
