Helping Others by Real Action

ZAKKI (www.ZakatKasih.org) is an online platform (website and mobile application) based organization that focus to helps elderly and people with disability get better livelihoods in order to build inclusive community in Indonesia. ZAKKI is facilitating alms and donations collection and deployment to help elderly and people with disability who working in the informal sector to get better livelihood through micro-business management assistance and giving them exposure to the greater market.

For stage 1, we will collect alms and donations in form of money and goods. Advancement in stage 2, we will develop garbage donations scheme using IOT as wearable IOT for elderly and garbage ATM's. By stage 3 the programs advanced to helps people gain better healthcare through cutting-edge technology, virtually augmented reality physiotherapy, implemented holistic and permaculture ways, in related to handle advancement of stage 4 which is to develop an integrated-inclusive city. Furthermore, in stage 3, we will build cryptocurrency system under brand Merit Coins. Which is opening ability to donate using cryptocurrency such as bitcoins, litecoins, etc.

For the profit ZAKKI will launch MAHA brand (MAHA by ZAKKI). MAHA acts as ZAKKI source of profit business that will execute:

• Co-housing for elderly
• Co-housing membership
• Co-ownership vehicle
• Funeral service’s

Based on The General Data Protection Regulation, there is 2 essential concept for data privacy, which is Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default. Implementation of Privacy by Design (PbD) required adoption of seven key principle of PbD; Proactive not Reactive (Preventative not Remedial); Privacy as the Default; Privacy Embedded into Design; Full Functionality — Postive-Sum, not Zero-Sum; End-to-End Security — Lifecycle Protection; Visibility and Transparency; Respect for User Privacy.

Therefore to applied the seven key principle, we are implemented PbD through:

• Registering user, we are presented the privacy policy and term of services;
• Cookies notification and rejection option on the internet browser;
• Simple login with email or phone number and password. Added also 2-ways of authentication using finger print, OTP text, or uploading ID scan;
• Provide email, whatsapp and OTP SMS, SMS notification, Voice Calling for activation and for donation confirmation.

Since President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono administration, around 2009, Indonesia has starting one identification card on the existing citizen identity card (KTP) from manual to electronic ones called e-KTP. Due to corruption issue around e-KTP logistics, the process of collecting data through 1,700 island in Indonesia takes more than 10 years, and yet today 2019, the e-KTP process still on-going in several district in Indonesia. For developing country, primitive communication infrastructure is the most common hinderance. Whilst the government unable to provide sufficient access to communication device, the people will be self-provide for their needs on communications. Therefore, the number of cell-phone ownership in the developing country quadruple than developed country. Furthermore, although the smartphone ownership in developing country also rising but not as much as cell-phone penetration. As per implication of lack of internet connection in rural and far-flung island. This phenomenon underlying the concept of Voice Calling, SMS OTP and SMS Notification as part of digital identification.

There are 4 cellular service and provider in Indonesia, they are Telkomsel, Indosat, Excelcomindo, and Three. Among those four, Telkomsel has substantial coverage thorough Indonesia archipelago and most of far-flung island. Therefore, we can embedded the digital identification system by using SMS OTP and SMS Notification to the island inhabitant by setting using local language even vernacular. In order to make illiterate people or blind people, we optimize Voice Calling using local language even vernacular.

Currently the API has not available yet. We are on-going developing the alpha product in switching from the MVP. For the further development, the data submission based on the Voice Calling, SMS OTP and SMS Notifcation will be gathered as database and can be accessed by the API embedded source.

ZAKKI product is develop in Indonesia and by Indonesian. As a developing
country, Indonesian already familiar with unreliable internet
connection and limited access to internet, especially for those live or
travel to far flung island or mountainous village.

We are slowly but sure doing social caused for the society. As start-up in early stage, we continuously making progress. Currently our tractions of 2019 there are 249 elderly and 118 donors, 11 volunteers, 3 collaborators. Hence, we are visioning that; Our goal in Non Profit:
Year 2024 will be Garbage ATM, IOT Elderly; IOT Foodstall; Community Center healthcare,tai chi, permaculture ; Certification hygienic foodstall.  
Year 2030 Helping 1000 Elderly; 50 Community center RT/RW ; 1 Inclusive & Integrated City ; 1Million Volunteer.

In 2017, I have initiate ZAKKI (Zakat Kasih; Alms of Love) and by July 2018, we have the legal entity as foundation named Integrity Syariah Foundation. Currently, we are still developing our fully function platform under url link www.ZakatKasih.org. Therefore, the platform expected to be finished by July 2019. Once the website ready, we will prepare to develop the mobile version of Android and IOS by August 2019 to December 2019.   

Arifah Suparni as the founder in charge of project management and User Experience evaluator. Professional of logistics (export-import) and purchasing with 8+ years of experience managing shipment arrangement, supply chain and warehouse resulting up to 15% productivity increase.  In addition to 1+ year of experience in professional non-profit project.Arifah has been active in student organization since high school started scout rover to Indonesian Red Cross during university.

On the website development team;  Muhammad Yanun and Umar Ashidiqi have competencies in programming: HTML & CSS3, PHP, Laravel Framework, Linux.

At stage 1, ZAKKI focusing on collecting and distributing money and goods donation to help elderly.

Our business model strictly follows Sharia (Islam) regulation. Alms collector (Amil) have rights up to 12,5% of total alms collections for operational needs of the organizations.

Others operational support will be derived from 5% deductions of donation. Since we are applied strict policy on membership approval.  In addition to 20%, income support from CSR program have collaboration with a private company that has similar mission and vision with ZAKKI.

Our plan for ZAKKI advancement, on stage 2, we will tap 40% margin from the garbage donation. Continuing in the progression of stage 3, we will have revenue from 40% cryptocurrency and healthy-hygiene certification contributing up to 100% revenue for the organizations.

ZAKKI as blue print idea is feasible and scalable to be implemented on all developing and well-developed country. Poverty always existed in every country. Due to the core basis of the idea is community engagement and empowerment. The key role is how the community around it having empathy to do something to help others. People in general are generous, they only reluctant to help because of lack of transparency and integrity of the organizer. Through the program Mission Billion Challenge, ZAKKI can be part of transparency advocate for combating poverty in developing and under-developing country.

The hindrance that we are facing is the human resource on the software developer and on-field volunteer. Indonesia is lack of competent engineer of software developer. In the on-field volunteer, we are needed the coordinator on-field execution especially that has expertise on community engagement and empowerment.
