We are attempting to solve the poverty and youth unemployment problem. In an attempt to address these challenges in Nigeria, we have identified quality education, career counseling, vocational education, and entrepreneurship as viable solutions. The Nigerian National Bureau of Statistics said in 2020 that 40% or 83 million. Nigerians live in poverty, and Unemployment Rate in Nigeria increased to 33.30 percent in the fourth quarter of 2020 from 27.10 percent in the second quarter of 2020. The high rate of unemployment in Nigeria has significantly contributed to the dramatic rise in social vices and crimes such as Niger Delta militancy, Boko Haram insurgency, armed robbery, prostitution, abject poverty, and poor economy of the nation. Many people see vocational education as an option for those that are not privileged to go to school, meanwhile, it is meant to be part of the school curriculum. The reason we have lots of unemployed graduates in Africa is that society and parents believe more in getting educated in order to seek a good job rather than to create a good job. Many students also have the challenge of choosing the right career path or profession, which has also resulted in a radical increase in the youth unemployment rate in our society. Our target is to increase the number of people with relevant skills for financial success. By 2030, we will substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship.
Our target audiences are students, undergraduates, graduates, school dropouts, job seekers, and young entrepreneurs. We are working to address the employability gap and youth unemployment problem through our online learning platform that is needed in the post-COVID era because the coronavirus has disrupted the traditional delivery model of education. In addition to digital education and eLearning. E-Learning has completely transformed the way in which learning is imparted to students. Today's learners want relevant, mobile, self-paced, and personalized content. This need is fulfilled with the online mode of learning where students can learn at their comfort and pace. Students can easily access the content on any device with the internet. We keep track of student progress and ensure that they are headed in the right direction.
We also coach and help students and youths to choose the right career path that suits their passion, potentials, personal traits, and purpose in life. We transform education through digital training and career planning to promote employability and entrepreneurship. We give students and youths access to relevant information about Capacity Building, Personal/Professional Development Training, and other opportunities. We equip students, graduates, and young professionals with future-focused skills relevant to the 21st-century workplace. Our team goes to secondary schools to coach students with emphasis on helping them to discover, develop and deploy their talent by organizing entrepreneurship workshops in their respective schools to prepare them for life after school. We partner with professionals to train our team on Business and Professional Development.
The platform was launched this year 2020 during the COVID 19 lockdown. We have about 95 students on the platform, and their certificate is automatically generated after they have completed their courses.
Within last year, I collaborated with professionals who are already in the business to train and mentor 260 youths to start up their businesses and I am connecting those who lack the capital to job opportunities and get free or affordable training for employability and entrepreneurship. I chose this work because graduates need to acquire employability skills that are relevant to the 21st-century workplace, and many students are confused about the right career path to choose, which has led to a radical increase in the youth unemployment rate in our society. I have mentored 1275 students to discover, develop, and deploy their talents in a suitable career path. It is important to me because the best labor market entry path for young people remains a good basic education, vocational training or higher education, initial work experience, and career planning.
We are at the start-up stage. We have tested the markets by sending proposals to 35 schools in Lagos. We have tested the business with graduates and school dropouts by organizing Youth Entrepreneurship Development Training. We have piloted the business for 2years by facilitating vocational skills training in my community, but the setback was low turnout because many youths in my community have not started a business before. We couldn’t achieve much because of a lack of finance.
- Improving learning opportunities and outcomes for learners across their lifetimes, from early childhood on (Learning)
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in at least one community, which is poised for further growth
I started by organizing a youth development project by facilitating vocational skills to train youths in my community, but the setback was low turnout because many youths in my community have not started a business before. The project goals are to equip youths with all the necessary skills to make them entrepreneurs and job creators, and train youths on entrepreneurship and vocational skills acquisition, career development workshops, and render mentoring, coaching services, and business consultation services.
I have to collaborate with professionals who are already in the business to train and mentor 257 youths to start up their businesses and I am connecting those for lack capital to job opportunities from the Lagos State Employability Support Program to get free training for employability and entrepreneurship. Most career workshops always go in one direction (focusing on white-collar jobs) neglecting the artisans, technicians, and the likes. An artisan like a carpenter is not regarded as a career person but an accountant in a bank is seen as a career person, this is the error in our education, which must be corrected to eradicate poverty.
- A new project or business that relies on technology to be successful
Our learning platform is adaptive because it is an online educational system that modifies the presentation of material in response to student performance. It also captures students' data and uses learning analytics to enable human tailoring of responses. The online course platform is a learning management system (LMS) that provides comprehensive administration, documentation, tracking and reporting progress, and user management.
We offer multiple learning experiences such as distributed learning and physical learning with a multi-media method of instructional delivery that includes a mix of Web-based instruction, streaming video conferencing, face-to-face classroom time, distance learning through other combinations of electronic and traditional educational models.
We have formal learning analytics on the eLearning platform that tracks Completion rates Students' progress, When a user last logged in, Course status, Number of students enrolled, Total time spent learning, Individual employee assessment/quiz scores, and answers, Learning path data (how far in the course a learner is), and Number of answer attempts.
The enrollment status provides information about the number of students that are enrolled and unenrolled. This report may also provide information about who is passing the course and minor learner activity data.
The learning activity report gives a much more detailed account of learner interactions and patterns. Some information may include what materials they interacted with the most or if there were parts of the course that were skipped.
The learner progress report is where exactly learners are in their learning journey. This will let you know if they are on track or behind.

We have 95 students who have registered on for the platforms, 76 have enrolled for their courses and 60% have completed their courses, while the other 40% are in the progress of completing their courses. Next year we plan to serve 950 students
The impact goals of our solutions are an increased number of highly skilled young people, a reduction in social vices among unemployed youths, change in the attitude of young school leavers towards personal development programs, increase in the number of young people starting their own businesses, a better support system for young entrepreneurs, and bridging the employability skills gap.
The program is innovative because we make digital education and online learning accessible to remote areas by leveraging the internet that is needed in the post-COVID era because the coronavirus has disrupted the traditional delivery model of education. Digital education is important in eradicating poverty and hunger and in promoting sustained, inclusive, and equitable economic growth and sustainable development. Increased efforts towards education accessibility, quality, and affordability are central to global development efforts. The best labour market entry path for young people remains a good basic education, vocational training or higher education, and initial work experience.
I am measuring the progress towards my impact goals with the following indicators:
The impact of the training on the beneficiaries - Pre/Post Surveys will be carried out to determine the level of impact of the workshop/training on the beneficiaries.
The number of people (both men and women) applied - Follow-up survey will be used to determine the number of people who successfully register for the workshop/training to compare the level of impact with the community demand.
The number of people participating in the project activities - Assessments will be carried out to monitor and evaluate the impact of the project on the participant and monitor those participating in the project activities.
The new knowledge added to participants. - Students' questionnaires will be used to monitor and determine the new knowledge added to participants and their expectations or knowledge and skills they desire to acquire.
The number of businesses set up and jobs that are created. Follow-up surveys will be used to determine and monitor the businesses set up and jobs created.
The biggest barrier trying to tackle this problem with my solution is Database management and Data analytics because we want to use Cloud computing, another challenge is how to reach remote schools that have no access to the internet, electricity, or computers. The problem I want to solve with tech and software is to make digital education and online learning accessible to remote areas by leveraging the internet that is needed in the post-COVID era because the coronavirus has disrupted the traditional delivery model of education.
Next year, I want to learn how to leverage technological innovation to drive social impact in the world of education. My mission is to solve youth unemployment challenges by leveraging technological resources and the internet. I am interested in gaining advanced knowledge in Database management and Data analytics using Cloud computing like Google Suite Console, HANA, SAP, and Big Data, which I would not be able to develop through other education or training in my country. Solved Youth Innovation Challenge will be a dream come true for me because it is expensive to acquire these skills in an international institution and I do not have the financial capacity to make this happen. Within the next 3 – 5 years, I want to implement this advanced knowledge in my program to eradicate poverty and youth unemployment in Africa. The skills and knowledge I will acquire will give me the capacity to serve my country in a professional and advanced way.
Our Team members are passionate entrepreneurs who have experience in the business. Our team members are young graduates from reputable institutions across the country in different disciplines. We have a Project Manager who oversees and monitor all operations and projects; Finance Manager who maintains accurate financial reports, expenses, budgets, and payroll; Communication Manager who coordinate our Public Relations, Communication and Marketing, and Publications; Administrative Manager who maintains all Administrative Duties, and Client Relations; and Facilitators for our workshops. The Facilitators have a proven record of leadership and accomplishment in business and entrepreneurship. They are energetic with strong social and communication skills.
We couldn’t achieve much because of lack of finance. Skills I needed to effectively address this challenge are skills in strategic management, operations, succession planning, risk management, business ethics, branding, and strategic business planning. I have to collaborate with professionals who are already in the business to train and mentor them to start up their business and I connected those with financial challenges to job opportunities from the Lagos State Employability Support Program by LSETF to get free training for employability and entrepreneurship.
