Fisher Folks saving Marine Lives
Fishing Folks bringing Plastics caught at Sea for Cash
1. Plastic Waste at Sea and on Beaches
2. Protecting Marine Life and raising income for fishing communities by cleaning baches and bring back trash caught at sea for cash which will be recycled by my company. Through public awareness, community gathering, schools and churches. Setting up collection points to buy back the trash. Giving health insurance and social security to people involved in the project.
3. Protected Marine Life, clean Beaches, create job opportunities, raising income. The elimination of trash burnt at the beaches will reduce CO2 emmissions.
- Restoring and preserving coastal ecosystems
- Building sustainable ocean economies
It is a process of solving a challenge because I am the first and only person paying for trash collected at beaches and brought back from sea. Enrollment of Trash collectors in health insurance and social security scheme (pension).
Due to the high unemployment especially in coastal areas people are willing to participate in our project which provides them with an income which exceeds the minimum wage by 100%
Money transactions to collectors are made through the mobile money system offered by Telecom companies.
Before machine works are added Plastics have to be washed, sorted by type and colour.
Collected Plastic Waste is recycled at my plant through the following technologies:
a) Agglomeration
b) Extrusion
c) Pelletizing
d) Shredding

Health Insurance and Social Security are incentives retaining our customers.
So far 86 persons are enrolled in the project. They are benefitting from secure regular income as well as health insurance and social security.
Since unemployment in the coastal regions is over 50% the people working for the project have now a respected status in their community
Training for all people involved will be done on a regular basis explaining also som hazardous elments they might be confronted with
I am aiming to increase the number of people involved in the project to 150 in the next 12 months.
In three years approximately 500 people will benefit from this project, Managers of collection centres, Trash collectors, Fishing folks
