To do that, teachers need to include technology in their learning process thru productivity, collaboration and methodologies tools.

By impacting 1 million K12 teachers in the region, we will impact the lives of the students these teachers train by improving their digital skills.

What specific problem are you solving?

In Latin America and the Caribbean the academic performance or learning outcomes of students at K12 level is very low.

In the most recent PISA exams, the country in the region with the best results, Chile, was number 43 in readings, 45 in Science, 59 in math compare to other countries worldwide.

Their are around 6.5 million K12 teachers in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

By training 1 million teachers in the next 3-5 years, we will impact all their students by improving their digital skills which will open new employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to them.

What is your solution?

Ubicua is an online education platform that offers trainings on demand for teachers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

With a subscription, teachers will have access to all the online courses on demand, from anywhere and at anytime (Netflix model).

Trained teachers will know how to include technology and use productivity, collaboration and methodologies tools to improve their student digital skills.

As e-learning platform we use OPEN EDX, which was created by Harvard and MIT and has impacted more then 40 million people around the world.

Our cloud based platform is hosted in Azure and use data driven technology for reports and AI features.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

The target population are the 6 million K12 teachers in Latin America and Caribbean in public schools.

These teachers do not received the trainings they need in this post Covid 4th industrial revolution.

The data we get from the trainings we have been doing for over 20 years give us the knowledge to understand their needs and offer the online courses and international certifications that will improve their digital skills.

Teachers will be able to take this courses remotely from anywhere at anytime.

At the moment, more than 3,000 teachers are subscribed in Ubicua.

These teachers are mostly from Mexico, Dominican Republic and Colombia.
