Be employable in Peru
In Peru, 4 in 10 young people are unemployed. They are not studying careers or if they do, they do not have a job opportunity when they finish it and the result is they cannot help in their home economy. On the other hand, there are companies with a high demand for tech positions. In Perú, the search for tech positions has increased to 60% and its salaries have been duplicated in the last 2 years. WeBlockie wants to use that to give opportunities to Peruvians from every Peru city. We offer flexible training in an accelerated way in soft and hard skills to move them to their next Tech job position. This is for Peru now as we see the needs and the lack of opportunities. It can be scaled globally later as tech job positions are also offered in remote mode.
We found there is a huge unbalance in job positions in Peru, 4 in 10 young people do not have employment. It is knowable retail, building and other industries, which is not Technology, does not have a high job demand; plus their salaries are the minimum required by government. 33% of Peruvians are employed, which means 10Million of Peruvians and 20M do not have a job nor are working in a stable company. In this times, there are more opportunities regarding scholarships but Peruvians do not know about them and the majority of those solutions are centralized and, sometimes, restricted to Peru capital(Lima), they do not have a chance to improve their economy situation. The people we help have the attitude and that is what we look for to help them. By today, there are just 164,000 job offers for just one tech role, we can fill that high job demand training them in WeBlockie.
We provide accelerated flexible training in soft skills and technical skills with Mentoring included. We move them to their next technology job position. We need to see them growing in communication skills and be more confident in their selves; regarding technical knowledge, we train them with the specific topics, starting with an introduction about Tech World continuing with more specific topics. As part of their training, we look for a trainee job position for them, so they have the opportunity to start gaining experience. WeBlockie is a juniority program that is not very common to find these days. The first step is to have a job position, after that they can grow easily in Technology. We maintain the mentoring once they finish it.
WeBlockie program is made for people between 16 to 38 years old with no education opportunity or in a current unemployed status with attitude living in Peru. We look forward to find people with attitude and are really open to learn something totally new. They are our target population because they do not had an education opportunity as some people cannot study due to money constraints or some studied a career where they do not find job opportunities. To understand their needs, we have had focus groups for the current programs we have in Peru and have involved in community groups to understand the concerns on why they were unable to get a job or get into any of those programs. The usual answers we had were: they did not have the chance to be accepted as they studied another career, they do not have some basic knowledge to be able start or they were rejected for not being a specific gender that the program is designed. Here we look for people with talent to learn and desire to develop themselves. We are open to any gender in WeBlockie. We have proved this and we have our first alumni and she got into this 6 month program where she changed her salary to a 3x times salary in 6 months. Help us to be able to scale this solution.
- Offer training and flexible curriculum in hard (technical) and soft (social and interpersonal) skills, preparing people for the work of the future
The pandemic has impacted Peruvian people economy. In Peru, 4 in 10 young people are unemployed. They are not studying careers or if they do, they do not have a job opportunity when they finish it. Although, there are companies with a high demand for tech positions. In Perú, the search for tech positions has increased to 60% and its salaries have been duplicated. WeBlockie wants to use that to give opportunities to Peru people. We offer flexible training in an accelerated way in soft and hard skills to move them to their next Tech job position.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
We have an nonprofit organization Sol Diferente who is helping to get resources. We have made a proof of concept with one person, we had a 6 month program with her and she was able to change her job position. She has a Education degree. After the training, she got a job offer as a Trainee and 3 months ago, was hired as a Cloud Engineer by Globant company as she has soft skills and tech skills required. As we tested with her, we want to replicate it with different locations and for that we require help from you.
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
There is no existing training program like that in Peru. There are existing solution similar to WeBlockie program but it is just for women and they need to proof they did not have a chance to study a major degree.
In WeBlockie, the main requirement is the attitude and the age. This junior program is to open the eyes on many companies. Many companies does not see the potential or new college hires or people with a different career than the expected. They do not give opportunity to them and that is what we are doing, giving a impulse to save those months to the company and they can hire them as a Junior Advanced, not basic Trainee folks.
WeBlockie program has 2 people working who are the cofounders, Daniel Zaragoza and Carolina Herrera. The soft skills trainig is done by Daniel who is a psychologist and he is a tech recruiter. Tech training is provided by Carolina, she has more than 7 year of experience working in technology. The core is in these 2 cofounders.
This solution is auto sustainable because each alumni with a job will pay when they have the job, not before.
We have made a proof of concept with a person. She increased her monthly salary from 350USD to 2000USD. WeBlockie program works and we we want to replicate it. There is not a video proof but it can be checked in her linkedin account: https://pe.linkedin.com/in/bia...

WeBlockie program has 2 people working who are the cofounders, Daniel Zaragoza and Carolina Herrera. We are serving this program offbusiness hours as we do not have a partnership that help us yet.
We are looking to reach first Lima far districts where there are low income people. In 8months, we plan to open the program to whole country. As this training is only, we require they have a machine and good internet connection.
We are measuring how many jobs our alumni get. We do not have other metrics right now.
- Nonprofit
2 people who are the cofounders.
Part time:
Daniel Zaragoza, psychologist
Carolina Herrera, Devops Engineer
We, both, have strong backgroun in our profiles.
Daniel Zaragoza is a recruiter and know how to find the right job for them and have great soft skills to train. He has already provided consultancy services to hire for tech jobs and also has given soft skills consultancy.
Carolina Herrera is a Devops Engineer on of the roles more searched on Linkedin and it has been very demanding in the last 2 years. Companies are looking for SysAdmin, Cloud Engineers or Devops Engineers and she is strongly capable to train them.
WeBlockie is the main reason to be a diverse solution. We do not look just an specific gender, we are open to all genders. We are equitable we give the opportunity to the one who demonstrates commitment and attitude. We do not restrict for already having a bachelor degree or for being outside Lima.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We are applying to show people our solution and to gain some sponsors and help. We want to scale WeBlockie and for that reason we need your help.
As the barriers mentioned before, we require legal help. It is very expensive to look for legal and taxes help and a nonprofit organization does not have the resources for this.
Also, we want to be part of a solution and stop being the concerns of different people. We are looking for a change, we want to improve in one way people economy problem. We understand this can not solve everybody's problems but it will help a part of them.
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
We need help in taxes and legal, as there is not enough information about that if it exist, there is just few people specialized in Nonprofit organizations. We require financial support to be able to pay the subscriptions of the tools we need to use, salaries for full time employees, utility bills and marketing.
We require guidance in our marketing strategy as probably our current plan to show it is not the right way or needs to be improved.
