SpinOut
Carla is a student at a university of Bolivia, she is very entrepreneurial, but feels that she still has a lot to develop, she has the will to change her environment, but at her university, she encounters this culture and attitudes that do not allow her to develop and put in practice her abilities.
That's why we have created Spinout a network of university communities of innovation and entrepreneurship for redesigned higher education and create an innovation culture, which can provide valuable opportunities to future professionals because of their skills and capabilities.
In 3 years, we have recruited +600 students across Perú and Bolivia and reached +10 000 students in our impact programs and events.
we have proposed and validated strategies on how to develop these future skills through our change model ALEPSO and now, we are planning to land in the next countries to change the life of 50000students.
Exists a lack of innovation culture in Latinamerica academic ecosystem that is can been be observed when the student has difficulties applying for jobs or run their own initiatives coming out of university or institute. There is no easily access to academic communities where they can learn innovation, entrepreneurship and future skills because they are not well promoting and prioritized in universities and even worse the 80% of Academia in Latinoamerica does not have space or plan for this. Furthermore, in result of it, there is no pportunities to put in practica this abilities if they got it someway.
This is a really critical point in the human development index of the latinoamerican countries where Perú and their peers are in the half of the of it, ocupping Perú, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia the 79, 83, 86,107 positions respectively. This stadistica is equally proportional for their innovation index, in conclusion there is no a capacity of the countries to generate innovation if they are not working onto developed the competences of the future in their nations.
So the questions is: Are universities preparing professionals with culture and capacities of entrepreneurship and innovation to the coming future?
We have been creating a change model for university life, one that impacts significantly and positively for been focus on the student, helping them develop innovation, entrepreneurship and future capabilities; through a culture that faces the status quo and progressive community development. It is called ALEPSO, which consists of five phases along the five years of university life -Awareness, Learning, Experiment, Pursue and SpinOut- designed to introduce the students to the innovation culture, no matter which are they study field; validating along the way capabilities and mindsets in real experiences* and projects** until they get graduated. All of this helped by implement strategies that help to improve the early stage of the I&E ecosystem in universities after diagnosis. Giving the students a complete I&E experience all given from university life. We aspire to close the gap of opportunities and create more inclusive and decent jobs where people discovered their passions and worked with purpose.
*Note that each phase of our change model has differents strategies to implement in order to achieve expected goals, those could be: Bootcamps, Train the trainers, workshop, panels, talks, rituals, Preicubations programs, circles of study and reading, fail days, internships and list goes on.

In almost 4 years of creation, we have the opportunity to validate the problem, create a solution, iterate and finally validate it. we have to manage ourselves since the first year to make a pilot in one university community that allows us to validate the primary strategy and start creating our model impact. Next year we had the opportunity, for the first time, to take our change model to another university, that's how the network started to make real. Nowadays we have reached more than 15 universities in Perú and 3 in Bolivia, making them officials headquarters. we have standard our process made playbook of projects, collected and processed data to make decisions and also realize some strategics pàrtnership.
We have started designing our expansion plan for 2022 in other countries of Latinoamerica.
