TechieRank.com
Indian/Indonesian Developers told us they find it crazy there is a world wide tech shortage but they can’t secure a job!
Using big data, in just 6 seconds (5clicks) TechieRank.com makes developers stand out with fact based proof of job/soft skills to the recruiters/employers they want to work for.
This is vital as 6 seconds is all recruiters/employers typically spend reviewing developer's applications - saying "they all look the same".
Most (55%) HR professionals check developer's GitHub yet almost all (75%) don’t know how to properly assess it.
In just 6 seconds (5clicks) developers share a FREE verified credential of fact based skills they already demonstrate in their GitHub (and optionally Stack Overflow profile) to LinkedIn to ensure their job application stands out.
Tech employers/recruiters use TechieRank to increase diversity/inclusion by hiring more junior/fresh grad developers they can now identify as diamonds in the rough - reducing worldwide tech shortage.
- Connect the skills of the Indian and Indonesian workforces to the demands of employers
- My solution is being deployed or has plans to deploy in both India and Indonesia
We're part of Block 71 SE Asia and InnoFactory in Indonesia in partnership with La Trobe University in Melbourne Australia to reduce the tech workforce shortage for both developer job seekers and tech employers in Indonesia and India.
During workshops we've been running with Indonesian Universities (providing secret ways to increase their employability using fact based proof of their job and soft skills) we've learnt that fresh grads are struggling to stand out to Indonesian and Indian Tech employers because:
1) Due to the number of applicants, employers and recruiters are only spending on average 6 seconds reviewing applicants
2) 75% of the recruiters are not particularly technical so struggle to assess applicants GitHub.com profile (used by 90% of applicants and checked by 55% of recruiters/employers)
This is leading to high levels of fresh grad/self taught (60% of tech workers do not have a degree these days) unemployment and a "worldwide tech worker shortage".
Using existing public big data, we're already demonstrating the fact based job and soft skills of the Indian and Indonesian tech workforce (in particular fresh grads/self taught) matched to the demands of employers (who want fast, clear signals of diamonds in the rough worthy of additional investigation).
TechieRank.com a new platform by Reputationaire which is a data ownership startup working towards 7 of the UN's 17 sustainability goals. Our mission is to empower individuals with ownership of their existing data and TechieRank was built to connect via fact based proof of skills of the Indian and Indonesian workforces to the demands of Tech employers.
- Growth
I worked in software for 26 years after the UK Secret Service sponsored my Computer Science Masters at Oxford University who awarded me two scholarships.
My life mantra is to make a significant improvement I’m remembered for so we're working towards 7 of the UN's 17 sustainable development goals.
- A new application of an existing technology
Via market research by La Trobe University, InnoFactory and Block 71 we found that Indian and Indonesian fresh grad/self taught developers are not making it explicitly clear to Indian and Indonesian Tech employers and recruiters their job and soft skills.
But 90% (65 million) developers already have proof of their job and soft skills on GitHub and 14 million on Stack Overflow.
Using our innovative big data analysis we allow developers to provide quick, easy to digest, fact based proof of their job and soft skills.
Our platform makes it easy for Tech employers to quickly get a better understanding of their applicants job and soft skills resulting in them hiring people (often from more diverse backgrounds) they would otherwise had ruled out due to lack of information or unconscious bias.
We use different technology for Indian and Indonesian developer job seekers and Indian and Indonesian Tech employers.
Indian and Indonesian job seekers just login via GitHub or Stack Overflow in one click to prove they own their accounts (important as Indian and Indonesian employers told us they have caught applicants submitting someone else's pseudo anonymous profiles as their own before).
We ONLY request developers share their public username - privacy and data ownership is at the heart of everything we do.
We then use our unique big data data science analysis to calculate their realtime ranking against all 65 million other developers along with soft skills they may demonstrate. The job seeker then can share a free verified credential to LinkedIn proving their ownership (and optionally sharing their rank). This just takes them 5 clicks and 6 seconds.
Indian and Indonesian Tech employers simply enter their applicant's GitHub username (usually provided on the applicant's CV or in the employers application form) or click the applicant's LinkedIn verified TechieRank credential and select the level of developer they are looking to hire (intern/fresh grad, junior, mid level, or senior).
We then use our unique big data data science analysis to calculate if the current applicant is likely to be a diamond in the rough worthy of additional investigation from fact based proof of job and soft skills.
NB: A TechieRank ranking should not be required of all Techies and it should not replace employer's existing evaluation processes.

Covid has increased number of job applicants 4x.
60% of Indian and Indonesian developers do not have a University Degree - required by some antiquated Indian and Indonesian employers.
More and more Indian and Indonesian Tech companies are being formed but the HR staff do not necessarily come from a Tech background so struggle to assess applicants.
Indian and Indonesian Employers say "all grad applicants look alike" and "soft skills are as or more important than job skills" but the fresh grads or those self taught have no way to demonstrate soft skills in the 6s their job application is reviewed by Indian and Indonesian employers.
Data science and big data is becoming more and more powerful and accurate as well as applicant's having more data online as time goes on.
As time goes on more and more developers will be self taught and will be unemployed due to worsening economic conditions, more and more non technical HR staff will work for the greater number of Indian and Indonesian Tech companies so there will be more and more need to help Indian and Indonesian developers prove their employability and more and more need for Indian and Indonesian Tech companies to be able to spot diamonds in the rough applicants (often from more diverse backgrounds e.g. women, financial deprived self taught e.t.c) to increase employment of job seekers and more productive and successful Indian and Indonesian Tech companies.

We've also had around 50 part timers including data scientists and psychologists who helped build our big data models.
I worked in software for 26 years after the UK Secret Service sponsored my Computer Science Masters at Oxford University who awarded me two scholarships.
My life mantra is to make a significant improvement I’m remembered for so we're working towards 7 of the UN's 17 sustainable development goals.
I formed Reputationaire and TechieRank to achieve these goals as I am not driven by money or power, instead making a meaningful impact I am remembered for.
Despite challenges (my ex life partner and ex cofounder sabotaged our $100k written investment and used lawyers to take my house and some funds) I am determined to succeed and many people believe and support our vision.
We use our own tools to hire - build specifically to mitigate unconscious bias hiring due to proven ability and enthusiasm not any other factors e.g. location, race, age, sex, degree e.t.c
We've proved our greater Reputationaire value prop, tech platform and provisionally patented process in Australia's Real Estate and Employment verticals with several pilot clients (Biggin & Scott, Halcyon Knights, nDeva, Ribit, ATY Advisory, Refugee Talent), and have secured 9 signed MOUs including with FinTech Archa and are now working with Asset Owl, Student Edge, RMIT OnDemand, UCities, InterCheck.
RMIT for example who funded our Startup pay Reputationaire to overcome their cold start problem on their RMIT on Demand gig workforce platform where 90% of jobs go to the top 10% of existing rated students.
TechieRank was built after 4.5 years of research with tech employers and job seeking developers.
Indonesian and Indian Developer job seekers - free platform to make it as quick and easy for them to improve their employability and LinkedIn profile (which devs hate working on). With constant feedback improve the platform to meet their exact needs and upskill them.
Indonesian and Indian Tech Employers and Recruiters - provide free trials of everything our platform offers and refine it based on their exact feedback and needs.
Team - openness and clarity around everything we do, and why we do it. Help team feel empowered and aligned to our vision of data ownership and improving individuals lives.
Supporters/Mentors - constant updates on impact they have helped us achieve.
- For-Profit organizations
I am motivated by impact not money or power.
TechieRank was formed specifically to connect the skills of the Indian and Indonesian tech workforces to the demands of tech employers so when Gabriella Bianchi recommended we apply for the assistance we need to scale, it seemed a non brainer to work with a prestigious successful organisation that shares our vision.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. expanding client base)
As an entrepreneur I've bootstrapped numerous Startups into profitability (e.g. Web Development Company, ecommerce service, UK's largest online ant supplier) but I lack the skills and experience in public relations, expanding client base and working with BD/marketing/PR team mates.
I need support in those areas to scale to ensure the already working TechieRank can make the impact to millions of Indonesian and Indian lives it has the potential to.
