JOBDOH - one click upskilling / job app
JOBDOH was started as a one-click AI based mobile app to match employers and workers quickly. We started in the hospitality and events industry, with the record speed of posting a job to workers arriving at work within 30 minutes. However with the pandemic and the economic impact, some hospitality and entry level jobs have been cut, causing workers hardship so we decided to upskill workers and place them accordingly. The new jobs we are focusing on are in the care and in the digital sector. To do so, we add simple, bite size upskilling content in the app directly. Once the workers complete X number of classes, they will be prompted to apply for jobs that could match their new skill set.
- Connect the skills of the Indian and Indonesian workforces to the demands of employers
- My solution is being deployed or has plans to deploy in both India and Indonesia
Our solution is currently deployed in Myanmar, one of the poorest countries in Southeast Asia, targeting young unskilled workers.
The estimated youth unemployment rate in India and in Indonesia at 23% and 14% respectively.
The above statistics are a reason of young people living in non-urbanized areas and are workforce ready. So with the upskilling content within our app, we can help young people upskill and be ready to work. Also the digital nature of our app enables workers to apply for and work on assignments remotely.
We are targeting un-employed or under-employed youths (17-25), who typically live away from the major cities and/or lack the skillset to dive into the workforce right away. While we are not yet in Indonesia and India, we are in Myanmar facing a similar situation. Due to the coup-e'tat that took place in Feb 2021, many job opportunities, especially within foreign firms, were ripped away. Young people have been struggling to find entry level jobs for them to apply themselves or to start building a career. We have been bridging them with remote work opportunities overseas. However this also calls for higher skillset which they can upskill within the app.

- A new application of an existing technology
JOBDOH is the only job app that combines upskilling, assessment and placement in one. It empowers workers by training them and prompting them to apply for suitable, remote or local opportunities at ease.
The upskilling content comes in bite sizes so it's easy to digest and integrate into real learnings that can be deployed into the workplace quickly.
Our proprietary AI matching algorithm matches on many factors, instead of only education and work background. Upskilling content is integrated into the user profiles so workers can be notified of appropriate job opportunities as they come up.

We have been running our AI based job application since 2014. We realize over the years that job matching is only one part of upward mobility. Another major factor is being workforce ready or acquiring new skillsets that are critical for the post-pandemic economies.
Our theory of change is that only by equipping, bringing awareness and matching the relevant jobs, local or remote, for young workers, will they have the opportunity to start a career that can improve their lives. Otherwise they will be stuck in cycles of low paying jobs. Once a young worker can make a decent income, he/she can help bring up the living standard of his/her household.
Nearly 80% of our workers are female who tend to save more and reserve the money to improve the well being of her family.

Since we target low-income workers, we need an efficient and cost-effective marketing and deployment program
We plan to partner with vocational training schools, colleges and other job agencies.
Also Facebook and Tik Tok have penetration for the majority so we will leverage that as well.
