Mobile interchange ecosystem for workers

Provide a mobile ecosystem or portal that makes it easier for workers to promote themselves and find work. Equip workers with mobile technologies to document their capabilities. By allowing workers to demonstrate their work output, employers can better understand the ecosystem of work that people in Indonesia are producing. A system that documents the workers, relationships, and labor involved in creating products can help researchers and innovators find and optimize inefficiencies in the supply chain. By creating a logistics map documenting labor, we will be better able to track and analyze the system of production where innovative solutions can be implemented. It could also be as simple as helping workers find work, by allowing them a place to upload documentation of their skills for potential employers.

Almost everyone has a mobile phone and can document their work.  People needing skilled labor should be able to understand where to find the best workers, and also have some ability to efficiently tap the skilled resources available to them. Furthermore, having an "alibaba" for skills may help job seekers identify what specific skills are in high demand. The platform can also help guide workers into more lucrative careers, much like UpWork does by providing training and skill badges.

To understand and optimize the network, first there must be enough information to document the situation. I propose establishing an interchange where people can upload information about their services. This portal would serve freelancing workers organized around different production capabilities, such as labor, knowledge, or product manufacturing. This would be like "linkedIn" but with portfolio of a person's work output rather than a resume. For example, garment workers would have one section demonstrating their sewing skills, while technology workers would be at another section that looks like Behance. People would be able to attest to working with different people around a particular output. By documenting a full ecosystem of workers around an industry, including the relationships between people, employers will be able to more efficiently source the workforce, solve problems with production, and understand where to best focus their recruitment/education efforts to create more skilled workers. Furthermore, there would be trust and responsibility that lasts through different products, so that consistent knowledge transfer across teams can be tracked over time.

This solution uses technology that people already have, but provides a framework to direct the efforts of workers.  The solution also does not rely on cumbersome technology, but takes the model from existing websites that work well to unite workers with corporations. The creation of a website that follows the model of linkedIn, upwork, and behance,taking the best interaction elements is not a complex solution. Further, developing an app that enables people to upload their information is quite easy to implement.  Without much work, one could even implement this with a simple website that organizes lists of different worker's youtube channels.

The theory of change here is that people documenting their labor can also help them reflect and understand the ecosystem in which they function in better. Almost everyone who has a mobile phone can think about it as a way to find work to improve their future by connecting with potential employment.

Well, if given the resources, I can build a website and app for this specific population.

Adoption rate and number of users are obvious metrics. More interesting would be to be able to see how many interviews and job connections happen. Statistics on number of diversity in the population taking advantage of the site would also be helpful.

Financial, an investment is needed to start development. Cultural  guidance to recruit local users. Legal guidance on helping companies hire people easily, maybe through setting up a contract system within the portal like UpWork has.

Get advice, partners, and board members who know about legal and cultural matters.
