If VoteOurVoice wins the Elevate Prize, we will use the funds to do the following:
- Launch our platform in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Pakistan, India, South Korea, Columbia, and Mexico
- Target marketing to increase our social media following from 1.4 million to 6 million (doing this monetizes the revenue model past break-even and provides growth income)
- Collect more than 150 million data points to analyze and perform the most extensive analyses on democracies around the world. This data will allow users to make voting decisions based on data versus party loyalty or emotion
- Reduce investment risks by interjecting transparency and accountability into political systems
- Build and implementation of an API that will enable voting organizations (every 4-years relevant groups) to engage and monetize the followings they develop when registering people to vote. This will greatly accelerate our user growth and revenue model, since the data will be owned and controlled by VoteOurVoice while the UX will occur on the partner’s site. For example, Voto Latino registered 400,000 new voters in 2020. Implementing the VoteOurVoice API will allow Voto Latino to monetize nearly $300,000 in ad revenues per year.
Vision – I want to help people living in democratic societies everywhere to grade their politicians to provide them transparency into how well they are being represented. Voters will use data to make their voting decisions versus voting based on political party loyalty or emotion. The data that VoteOurVoice provides gives people the ability to do this. This achieves two things: 1) It requires that people be engaged in their democracy, and the greater the number engaged the more reflective the outcomes will be of what people truly want. 2) It gives people a voice in the legislation that governs them.
Purpose – My purpose is to help underrepresented people have a voice in their democracy and weigh in on all decisions that affect them by providing their politicians statistically significant data about how the people they represent want them to vote on legislation before the politician enters their vote.
Goal – My goal is to have 200 million people using VoteOurVoice by 2025.
About - VoteOurVoice gives people a report card and scoring mechanism that illustrates how well elected officials represent their interests. Conversely, elected representatives may use VoteOurVoice to more accurately understand the will of the people.
We are solving a problem that most voters have: insufficient data and an effective analytical tool for evaluating politicians. Our platform utilizes politicians’ voting record information to produce a simple measured output that helps voters understand whether their prospective and elected political representatives adequately represent their interests or not. The analysis of the information provided on the VoteOurVoice platform requires user participation in a simple, fun and engaging way. Users mimic elected officials by ‘voting’ on summaries of actual legislation that their particular representative voted on. In this interactive web-based application, the citizen’s votes are compared to those recorded by the evaluated representatives. The output is a percentage rate that shows how well aligned the user’s vote, and hence views, align with those of their electoral choices. Percentage rates are also calculated to compare the user’s voting choices with that of other users in their district (or voting “community”) as well as the politician’s voting record with that of other users in the voting community.
- We are first-mover in politician performance. This provides political system transparency, and allows for political accountability

- Social Media Marketing Engine:
o VoteOurVoice has 1,400,000 followers
o Closest competitor has 152,000 social media followers
Our skill at social media marketing allows us a considerable advantage in reaching users and providing awareness of our platform to those most in need; women, people of color, LGBTQ, and other underrepresented people. These groups are grateful to be part a change that makes them relevant.
Democracies around the world have evolved into systems whereby the goals of the politicians are out of sync with the needs and will of the people. The University of Maryland conducted a survey that showed 71% of people think the political system has reached a dangerous low point, and 40% of people believe this is the new normal and nothing will change it. VoteOurVoice is making a difference and social reach has made us the number one democracy reform influencer in the world. Our coverage and influence touches protests in the U.S., Hong Kong, Myanmar, Peru, Colombia, Turkey, France, Spain, Iraq, and others. We will continue with what is working and grow from there. Our democracy work is closely related to protest for equality and racial discrimination, and it encompasses voter suppression.
