The Elevate Prize creates a strong chain of impact and support, amplifying holistically the work of innovators and subsequently the voices of the positively affected communities. This is the recipe for long-lasting and meaningful systemic change that will create and equally distribute more opportunities and drive action to change the world.
Aligned with this vision, MExoxo empowers women globally to unleash their potential and reach socioeconomic independence and growth with skill-building and education programs focused on entrepreneurship and career development. We have already supported 5.5K+ women in 16 countries and we are currently developing the Break Your Ceiling digital platform to empower, educate and connect 5M vulnerable women across 80 countries by 2030.
The financial resources, the network of other inspiring change-makers and the tailored mentoring opportunities through the Elevate Prize will greatly assist in the implementation and growth of our platform to reach our beneficiaries and create the global synergies needed to mobilize local communities around the globe. We are also forging a chain of impact as every empowered woman empowers at least 4 more women in her community and invite you to elevate our work towards a gender-equitable economy, where no woman is left behind!
Inspired by my own childhood difficulties, I have devoted my life supporting girls and women to break their ceilings and unleash their potential, never averting in front of any risk or difficulty I encountered; and I did encounter lots of sudden falls and closed doors, but every single failure has eventually been a gift I treasure deeply!
I started my journey in Tijuana, Mexico, after the encouragement of my mentor, the Nobel Laureate, Muhammad Yunus, supporting local women living in slams to achieve socioeconomic growth.
I officially pledged my commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative to support 5K women by 2020. I now have by my side a passionate team of visionaries with diverse skill-sets, backgrounds and experiences and most importantly empathy and drive for impactful solutions. We are nurturing together a diverse and inclusive global community of women, armed with the necessary knowledge and resources to incite a deep societal change towards a world of gender parity and equality.
We have been nominated for the UNESCO Prize for Girls & Women’s Education and received the Greek International Women Award for Social Impact.
648M women globally have no access to education, earning 1/10 of the world’s income despite working 2/3 of the total work hours. The pandemic has exacerbated gender-based disparities in education and employability, pushing 47M women into extreme poverty by the end of 2021. Two in five women want to start a business, but limited access to entrepreneurial education, finance, the Digital Gender Gap and stereotypes hinder the growth of female-owned companies and their career development in key fields. It could eventually take 150 years to close the global gender gap if we don’t move towards a gender-equitable economy.
MExoxo is developing the Break Your Ceiling digital platform to empower, educate and connect 5M vulnerable women across 80 countries by 2030 in alignment with the UN SDGs. Through the platform women are:
1) empowered to discover their strengths, talents and define their mission,
2) educated through sector-specific Academies with formal certifications from top accredited institutions,
3) connected with a global ecosystem of mentors, public, corporate, non-profit stakeholders and employment partners, and,
4) supported with flexible microfinance services and digital tools to start and sustainably scale their businesses.
Join us in unleashing every woman’s potential!
Our platform leverages the widespread use of low-cost consumer technologies to globally enhance access to knowledge, skill-building and employability opportunities for women. It is built for scalable impact under a symbiosis scheme with all relevant stakeholders.
Corporations fund scholarships for our beneficiaries and local NGOs enhance their resources, participating all together in the democratization of education and the acceleration of gender equality in a risk-free, transparent way, aligned with the SDGs.
Siloed one-time programs, lacking the capacity for a systemic impact, or without diversity and accessibility at their core cannot bring transformative change. We offer a holistic, gender-sensitive approach and free access to academic material by top institutions, equipping women with the tools, mindset and network to go after their goals.
Our current partners include The Coca-Cola Foundation, Google.org, INCO Academy, Institut Français, Blinkist, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, LeadX3M, MIDOT and many more. Our business model ensures sustainable recurring revenues through the scholarships funded by corporations, supporting vulnerable women and indicatively, over the last 3 years we have implemented CSR programs for more than 15 companies. We offer an inclusive by design ed-tech solution empowering and elevating vulnerable women activating all relevant stakeholders for a true systemic change.
Enhancing digital and financial inclusion could enable 97M women to achieve economic independence and reduce the gender pay gap by 21% worldwide, catalyzing societal prosperity, as advancing women’s equality could add $12 trillion to the global GDP by 2025.
Our 360° approach including empowerment, education and access to resources, capital and networks, stimulates women’s participation in innovation ecosystems by supporting the start-up, scale-up and sustainability of women-owned businesses and boosting women’s employability.
MExoxo has supported 5.5K+ women directly and 22K+ indirectly, offering $1M in growth opportunities in 16 countries. We target women with diverse backgrounds, minority groups (refugees, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities) dealing with discriminatory behaviors and young students.
Our program promotes racial equity and is tailored to our beneficiaries’ needs with an intersectional lens, provided by the collaborating local stakeholders (Global Giving vetted organizations) with a deep understanding of the unique situations. We are further boosting local economies by creating economic empowerment and growth hubs, led by MExoxo women seeking to empower their communities. The project is expected to serve ~100K women across 15 countries, in three 12-month steps, with ~9K, ~32K and ~59K respectively, with a 5€ (6$) cost per beneficiary.
