Do Gooder
- United States
Do Gooder is a print and digital publication focused entirely on highlighting the GOOD happening in our world. We know there is still so much GOOD out there and we want to shout it from the rooftops. With the funds from the Elevate Prize, we would instantly be able to begin producing monthly print content (vs. quarterly) and more consistent and diverse daily and weekly digital content. Additionally, we'd be able to start hosting "do GOODing" events that give individuals and companies the opportunity to do GOOD, while supporting many different non-profits across the country.
We currently face barriers to expand our reach because creative professionals, writers, marketers, and marketing expenses are all quite costly. As a relatively new organization, it sometimes feels impossible to get ahead. We need GOOD people to help find, create, and showcase the GOOD. Yet we can't afford to hire these individuals because we haven't been able to expand our reach.
The funds from the Elevate Prize would be exactly what we need to take Do Gooder and The Do Good Foundation to the level in which we can no only share the GOOD, but help create a kinder culture where GOOD is the norm.
After 12 years fundraising for the world's largest Ronald McDonald House, I knew that there was still so much GOOD in the world. But with the headlines as heavy as they had become, I also knew not everyone was as fortunate to be immersed in it the way I was. It was in February 2019 that Do Gooder became a reality.
In 2021, Do Gooder teamed up with The Do Good Foundation, co-founded by Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee (LA Chargers, now #91 with the Indianapolis Colts) Isaac Rochell and his friend Trevor Beck to not only showcase more of the GOOD, but to begin building a nationwide network of do GOODers that care for our communities and other non-profits.
A recent study suggests that people treated kindly are 278% more likely to treat others kindly. It doesn't have to be a big grand gesture, just one small act of genuine human kindness. We believe that when we shine a light on individuals, companies, and causes making our world better, that we create a chain of kindness that WILL change the world. So, together we have set a goal to spread 91,000,000 acts of kindness before December 2022.
The world may have always been unkind, but with easy access to digital communication tools, today it seems to be more cruel than ever. Nearly every American is affected.
- 96% of people have been bullied at work, 72% will leave their job because of it.
- 53% of adults have experienced online harassment.
- 9 out of 10 people feel higher stress because of bullying.
- 41% of those bullied online experienced anxiety, 38% experienced depression, 26% developed suicidal thoughts.
On the contrary, the positive effects of kindness are endless.
- Those treated kindly are 278% more likely to treat others kindly.
- One act of kindness triggers an oxytocin response; increasing mood, reducing anxiety, increasing happiness.
- Optimists experience a 50% decreased risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and cancer.
- Highly optimistic people are 103% more likely to give their best at work.
By showcasing the GOOD, we're making kindness something to strive for. By providing opportunities to do GOOD, we're creating a ripple effect of GOOD that will create a kinder culture nationwide. Companies will see stronger results, people will live longer, happier lives. We truly believe our work WILL change the world. We just need a little help to keep the GOOD going.

Do Gooder's digital platform will be a place for nothing but GOOD. No comments, no likes, just positive content to recognize those doing GOOD. Our print magazine is pure joy, the happiest mail to show up since grandma's birthday check. We want to make doing GOOD cool again by only celebrating individuals, companies, and causes making the world kinder, more inventive, stronger, and just better.
We don't utilize advertising software. If we like what a company does to give back, we'll happily support their advertising efforts. Every company that chooses to advertise in the magazine or online, receives ad space to gift to the non-profit of their choice.
Additionally, our nationwide network of do GOODers will be out on the streets, committing to at least one kind act every single day. Once a year, we'll take the GOOD on the road through a program called Joy Ride, a nationwide tour to spread joy. Between our network of do GOODers and Joy Ride, we aim to commit 91,000,000 acts of kindness. 91 MILLION.

We're even hosting events called Kind Kamp that give kids and teens the fundamentals needed to build optimism and create a kinder culture.

Do Gooder and The Do Good Foundation are impacting humanity in every single thing we do. Our entire mission is more GOOD.
Do Gooder media outlets are designed to:
- Make doing GOOD something for people, companies, and causes to strive for
- Recognize individuals for being GOOD humans
- Celebrate and promote companies that care about their customers, their employees, and their communities
- Give nonprofits a positive place to showcase their GOOD work
- Get people off the internet, while still giving them something GOOD to inspire them to do GOOD too
- Celebrate what makes us unique
- Create joy and optimism in everyday life
Do Gooder and The Do Good Foundations's network of do GOODers will:
- Create easy, fun opportunities for everyone to get out and do GOOD
- Support ALL people through simple acts of everyday kindness
- Give do GOODers the oxytocin boost they need to feel more joy
- Give companies a way to get their employees doing GOOD every day, not just on occasion
We may not be able to rid the world of negativity, but we can help more people see the world through the lens of optimism; thus making them happier, healthier, and more capable of genuine human kindness.
