My company is focusing on providing solutions to solve drinking water issues. We develop off-grid solutions for water supple (compact RO systems, Atmospheric Water Generator).
We will use the Elevate Prize to further implement our solutions, especially at undeveloped countries, at areas which suffer from water shrtage and lack of electricity grid.
EZPack® was founded to provide solutions for water supply. We started with developing solution for water supply at emergency situations, solution that is used widely in Israel by Water Utilities and municipalities.
Following it, we have shifted our focus on water supply to areas that suffers from constant shortage of drinking water. Such shortage can be from water contamination or from lack of water resources. Very often, such places also do not have electricity grid supply. In the last 2 years we have focused on Off-Grid water supply solutions, that are based on 2 main product lines: (1) off-grid compact-robotic RO systems for water purification and desalination; (2) off-grid Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) systems. Those two lines of products enable us to offer solutions for drinking water supply in remote areas and small communities that suffers from water problems.
According to WHO 785 million people lack even a basic drinking-water service, including 144 million people who are dependent on surface water. Globally, at least 2 billion people use a contaminated drinking water source. Contaminated water can transmit many diseases and is estimated to cause 485,000 diarrheal deaths each year. By 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas. In least developed countries, 22% of health care facilities have no water service, 21% no sanitation service, and 22% no waste management service.
EZPack® is an Israeli startup focus on off-grid water solutions. We develop proprietary-innovative solutions for clean water supply in areas that suffer from water shortage. WE design our solutions to be easy to install and operate and cost-effective. We focus our efforts on solutions for small communities, family agriculture and remote areas. We have identified Africa as our prime target market. Many areas in Africa, especially small communities, suffers from water problems, either due to water contamination or lack of water sources, and have no electricity grid connection. The first major project EZPack® has in Africa is in Lesotho, where the Company will provide running water to 200 villages around the country.
Our focus is on water supply solutions for small communities, remote hospital and clinics, and other areas that suffer from water problem, do not have electricity grid, and need local solution. We design our products to fit to such requirements: (1) low power consumption; (2) cost effective; (3) easy to operate; (4) minimal maintenance.
The EZPuro™ is compact-robotic RO system; it is the smallest and lightest machine in the category, and it is the smartest RO water purifier. Its automation made it the best solution for remote locations, with no need for professional personal to operate the system. It uses a complex algorithm to control two actuated proportional valves according to data collected from multiple sensors. The system can handle very rough and various feed water.
The EZCond™ includes a proprietary-innovative algorithm, that optimizes the condensation process continuously and on-line. Implementing our innovative off-grid energy storage in large volume water bladders, enables us to significantly reduce the amount of energy needed, and therefore the EZCond™ can be based on Off-Grid-Green energy (solar, wind, etc.). The EZCond is a modular system, therefore the number of modules used is related to the local requirements and resource at operating site.
When water comes from improved and more accessible sources, people spend less time and effort physically collecting it, meaning they can be productive in other ways. Better water sources also mean less expenditure on health, as people are less likely to fall ill and incur medical costs and are better able to remain economically productive.
With children particularly at risk from water-related diseases, access to improved sources of water can result in better health, and therefore better school attendance, with positive longer-term consequences for their lives. Climate change, increasing water scarcity, population growth, demographic changes and urbanization already pose challenges for water supply systems.
Options for water sources used for drinking water and irrigation will continue to evolve, with an increasing reliance on purification/desalination systems and alternative sources like AWG.
Implementing various financing methods, will enable EZPack to offer its systems to the low-income populations, in remote areas in Africa.
The biggest impact we can achieve is by installing our solutions in undeveloped countries, in small villages and communities. The first major project EZPack® has in Africa is in Lesotho, where the company will provide running water to 200 villages around the country.
