2Help Mobile Application
- Azerbaijan
There are 3 streams that require funds for its successful implementation: app development, marketing, and operations. Please note that once launched, 2Help will be self-sustainable due to monetization opportunities.
App development: there has been the 1st version of the app developed previously and used for the 6-month beta-test. It let us indicate the hit and miss features, as well as confirm the hypothesis of people actively using the donation feature with great interest. However, the quality of this MVP was low and with new features added, we now need to build an almost completely new app from scratch for both iOS and Android.
Marketing: this portion of funds will be targeted at events and campaigns raising awareness of 2Help - including fundraiser events, marathons, group training, and meditations, as well as social media marketing and in-app advertisement.
Operations: we focus on under-exposed charity organizations, and it would require physical meetings with organization leaders, driving across the country to indicate new opportunities and confirm those who applied.
The idea was born at my university in 2017, and developed for the annual CSR competition. I have always been an impressionable kid in terms of charity and social impact - one of my childhood dreams was to build a big place, or a house, where all the homeless people could work and live happily.
Coming back to university - I came up with a simple concept of converting steps to money, which was not innovative by itself (it was for Azerbaijan), and built idea around it. With 2 friends, we have applied to the competition, took 2nd place, applied for a governmental grant, and realized we may actually make 2Help happen when we won it.
During these 4 years the idea has transformed, new features were introduced, beta-test showed what users love or hate, the team around me has changed, but we never pivot from the mission - to simplify, digitalize and make charity accessible for those who are often overlooked.
As for the goals - 2Help is easily scalable and we plan to expand from Azerbaijan to Caucasus to CIS countries to Asia, Europe, and, potentially, in a few years 2Help will be introduced to every country.
Charitable work in developing countries is usually done by governmental or international organisations finding and supporting large philanthropic organisations that are already well known in public. Small charities and individuals in need struggle to find support, looking for help in social media.
There are currently around 60 + large and medium sized charities and thousands of individuals seeking donations in Azerbaijan only. On another hand, there are more than 90,000 people in Azerbaijan only, that showed their interest to charities and philanthropic orgs. However, there is no accessible platform for individuals to help in a few clicks and be sure their donation will reach the right place.
There is a lack of organizations working with animals and elderly people - we can become the only centralized platform aimed at supporting them on a country scale. Only in 2017 around 1.4 BN people donated money to non-proft orgs globally, so there is a large growth potential for animal and elderly charity donations.
Global statistics shows that by incorporating mobile-responsive design, non-profit organisations can increase their donations by 126% on average meaning that 2Help has a great potential for increasing a number of donations locally and globally in the future.
There are currently no similar hybrid apps (both fitness & charity) designed for the Caucasus region and a marginal number of similar apps globally.
App development in Azerbaijan is focused mainly on providing services, such as food delivery, banking, taxi, government, etc. There are no apps designed for fitness, wellbeing, and charities.
2Help can bring value on a global scale for its users too: with in-house & outdoors workouts (when gyms are closed, and people can not gather together), as well as promoting mental well-being when now many people are suffering from burnout, depression, and anxiety.
So, 2Help will:
Allow all charitable organisations, as well as individuals seeking support, to get access to the large organisations as well as the community of people who are ready to donate and support charitable causes.
Allow individuals to donate to smaller local charities by accessing verified and convenient way of transferring their donations to legitimate charities.
Provide companies with the opportunity to sponsor our app and show the world that they don’t just donate money, but they care enough to fund small charities in local regions.
Make donations process fun, interacting, and easy for all parties.
While regular funds and charity organizations reach their own goal in collecting funds to help those in need, there are 3 factors that we take into account, but they do not, hence, can not reach their full potential in making a social impact in our age.
Digitalization of social responsibility and charity: simplifying the process, making it almost game-like for both users and partner companies.
Building deep connections between all interested parties: regular people, charities, and organizations that have money.
Giving exposure to those who need it the most: providing a platform for all the smallest charity organizations in need of funds.
As of impact, we start by focusing on:
Children and education, we want to support the holistic development of children by ensuring the access to required learning content and technology.
Animal care, the donations will help provide the proper care for those who do not have voices of their own but touch our hearts in deep and meaningful ways.
Elderly people, as they require care, love, and affection. Understanding their needs and concerns will ensure the wellbeing and keep them happy. When they are left unattended, most of them are gripped with overwhelming feelings of dejection and purposelessness.
