For over twenty years I’ve struggled to demonstrate how with very little we could do so much. Born into an impoverished family, a child with a physical disability fighting to survive in a foreign land I have been able to lead a productive life making Causes for Change my life purpose.
Causes for Change is about planting one seed at a time where it will grow and where thousands will follow. It’s about creating partnerships and impacting communities and realizing that we can start where we are and with what we have. Disability is an ability to be viewed as an effective means for success.
I started Causes for Change to demonstrate that things can be done in community by using its local resources, it’s people. I began at a time as I watched and heard how donors monies were being used for high salaries and costly overhead of non-profits. I believed that a director, staff had to be where the need was, in community. As technology was advancing I could see having a mobile office for CCI was key. With telephone as the holder of information I have access to the world in the palm of my hands.
